Hypothetical dilemma (2)

Last month I posted a hypothetical dilemma for you and thought you might like another one.

The year is 1962. You've just been appointed as headmaster in a traditional British Grammar school that employs the use of corporal punishment "for serious and repeated bad behaviour" and now you're meeting with the Deputy Head to get up to speed on how things run in the school currently. The subject of corporal punishment has just come up. Apparently many of the teachers use a plimsoll to enforce classroom discipline and that is generally just allowed to carry on in a fairly unregulated fashion. However what is really meant by "corporal punishment" is formal caning in the privacy of the office of the headmaster or deputy. Canings are never given in view of other pupils unless two or more are being caned at the same time for the same offence. Canings are typically for smoking, bullying, fighting, theft, petty vandalism and truancy, but there is also a rule that any pupil who gets an after-school detention three times in one term will also be subject to caning.

The deputy head expresses his view that this is sometimes a nuisance - for example, in the final week of the previous term no less than seven pupils clocked up a third detention - because they were all in different classes he had to arrange for each of them to be brought his office to be caned at different times and it had taken a big chunk of his time. His suggestion is that the system should be tweaked and that those earning a caning under the three-detentions rule could be caned during the detention even 'though others would be present. The idea seems to have some merits and it might act as a handy deterrent to those already on a second detention.

You're inclined to give it a go. So your decision is either...

1. When one or more of the pupils are there for a third detention, the person supervising the detention checks all the names at the start of the detention and informs the guilty parties that they are going to be caned at the end of the detention - in theory they would know that anyway, but having any hope dashed would mean them having to sit throughout the detention period knowing what was coming to them shortly and would mean they had no time to recover their composure before going home. One of you would then turn up in the last five minutes or so and cane all of those deserving.
2. One of you arrives at the start of the detention, with the cane. As soon as the register is completed those due to be caned would be called forward and their canings delivered. They would then have to sit through the remainder of the detention in significant discomfort, watched by everyone else, and unable to rub their bottoms as they might wish.

Favourite for December

Winter makes us all think about getting warmed up and I'm pretty sure this young lady is about to experience a warming up that she'll remember but probably not really appreciate. She arrived at the office of the headmistress at exactly the time she was told and was brought inside. She's already had a lengthy lecture about her behaviour and how totally unacceptable it has been. She was just about to learn her fate when the headmistress took a phone call and had to leave "for a few minutes." But not before instructing her to stand facing the wall with her hands on her head and not to move - she could use the time to think over the folly of her poor choices. It would not go unnoticed by the girl that she was made to stand facing the wall exactly where the official school cane was hanging up.

She had never been caned before - never really been in trouble - and was very scared because of the tales that went around the school about Miss Meredith's legendary canings. She might get caned on her hands which she had been warned was excruciating because Miss Meredith made a point of hitting across the fingers - however there was less marking and it lasted a much shorter time. Or she might get caned across the bottom. She was told that Miss Meredith's technique then was to make you stand behind the big leather chair, and then bend over it and place your hands on the seat. Probably no girl in the school would be able to do that without their feet coming off the floor which left you in a very vulnerable position.

Some of the girls wore much shorter skirts than was really allowed and by that stage their panties would probably already be exposed. She had alway worn a very sensible and length-compliant skirt but once Miss Meredith had you in position and you couldn't do anything to stop it, she was reputed to whisk the hem off the skirt over on to your back to give her a perfect target. First time offenders could usually be expected to get four strokes but a couple of the more seasoned girls in her class, hearing what she was being reported for, said it was more than likely she'd get a classic "six of the best" - they may have just been trying to scare her but it had worked. If Miss Meredith did do that, there was general consent that she didn't hold back at all. Caning on the hands risked damaging a fragile bone so she had to be a bit restrained, but bottoms were fair game and she used all the strength of her renowned golf swing to drive the lesson home. Those who had experienced this sort of caning said it hurt more than anything they could have imagined and the marks lasted for a couple of weeks and sometimes longer.

She was, most definitely, feeling very remorseful right now, and was getting ever more panicked as the headmistress didn't seem to be returning anything like as soon as she'd suggested.

LOL day 2021

The time is here -  for the first time Love Our Lurkers day has morphed into LOVE OUR LIFESTYLE. And why not?

The truth is, there are some really lovely people in the spanko community, and it only seems right to recognise the varied contributions that they each make. Some may not be exactly to our personal taste but by and large we rub along well together and truly support each other. And surely that has never mattered more than it does in 2021. And, with a slight backward glance, it's still a great day to post some appreciation to the sites we often browse but rarely comment.

Hermione has announced the date for this year's LOL day is next week - November 19th. But she's also redesignated the annual event - instead of Love Our Lurkers it's becoming Love Our Lifestyle. I'll let Hermione explain:

Hypothetical dilemma (1)

Okay, so there's widespread agreement now that corporal punishment doesn't really have a place in schools today. However, at the same time, we know that it is still widely practised, especially in the deep south of the USA, and there are plenty of people there who thinks it's a good thing. So this kind of dilemma is perfectly possible today...

You're the Principal of a high school in Mississippi and your school still employs the paddle for serious misbehaviour. One lunchtime, two girls are seen fighting and a teacher has to part them. Although there appears to be a strong case that both were equally responsible for initiating the fracas, they have experienced rather different outcomes. One has blood pouring from her nose, the start of a black eye, and the very real possibility that her nose might actually be broken. The other is largely unscathed. The first girl has been sent off to the medical room while the second girl has, as a temporary measure, been placed in the In-School Suspension Unit so that her whereabouts are know while you are briefed.

A quick check of records show that the second girl has been in trouble for this kind of thing before and it needs to be dealt with accordingly. Experience tells you that one of the parents, probably the mother, of the first girl is going to be on the 'phone soon demanding answers so it's best to be seen to have acted quickly and decisively.

The decision is made - she's going to get six hard swats with the heavy wooden paddle across her behind and then sent home for the rest of the day - this means you can tell the other mother that the girl has been paddled and suspended. You arrange for someone to bring the girl to your office, and that's when you're faced with the dilemma.

As well as fighting, you now need to address what amounts to quite a serious infraction of the school dress code. I think you have two main options.

1. You inform her that, for fighting, she is to receive six swats with the paddle tomorrow morning at the start of the school day, and that she will be receiving further punishment for the dress code violation. That way, she'll have a significant amount of time to think about the paddling that is coming her way and she'll be able to dress properly for the paddling to be carried out. And she'll also have to spend the rest of tomorrow with a very sore bottom sitting in her classes with all of her peers being well aware of what has happened to her.
2. You administer the six swats there and then - it might hurt her rather more than if she had dressed properly but that really is her own fault and might serve to avoid the need for a separate punishment for the dress code violation. Plus you could then make her go back to her class for the rest of the day. Since she doesn't seem to care generally about how much her classmates can see of her bottom, it will be interesting to see how easy it will be to see the way it's been marked.

Favourite for November

 I do like attention to detail.

A couple of important lessons are about to be learned here. Firstly, that a pair of old style school gym knickers provide next to no protection from a solidly applied cane. And second, that if that cane lands exactly where it's being aimed, it is going to hurt very much and she won't be repeating that behaviour any time soon.

Even more movie bloopers

I do enjoy spotting those occassional slips of camera and set that bedevil our favourite producers of spanking movies. I mean you just can't go and say we'll wait for the red marks to fade and then reshoot the scene just because of some tiny mistake...

And when you have a spankee who is so reluctant to bend over the back of a chair for the next part of her punishment that the spanker has decided to take a seat while he waits, it's perhaps not altogether surprising that when she finally decides to get in place there's a momentary mix-up between the camera guy and the sound guy. A slightly odd one this - the girl is about to take her trousers down and, presumably, bend across the bed to be spanked, and her would-be spanker has decided to cross to the other side of the room.  I would have thought it would be easier to spank her if you stayed this side and perhaps that's what the second cameraman thought as well as he probably didn't expect to be in shot. Staying in the wonderful world of AEG (I think, overall, they're my favourites which is why I have a lot of examples from them), can you imagine being summoned to the Principal's office to be punished and as you nervously open the door to go in, there's a large lighting rig just inside the doorway to enable your punishment to be filmed? I understand the the second camera is using a fixed position so the cameraman doesn't need to stay with it, but I'm always a bit surprised that they can be so disinterested that they're not even watching the action just when it's getting interesting. (credit: unknown)

Finally, when you're not in this scene but are interested enough to keep an eye on things it's probably a good idea to make sure that you're out of shot, especially if, like Kailie, you're so uncaring for your fellow actor's soon to be very sore bottom, that you're just standing there picking your nose. Favourite for October

Belinda Lawson's ample bottom is not unfamiliar with being punished with a wide variety of implements but I have the feeling that this would be quite a memorable one. A wooden backed hairbrush is a fearsome enough implement but this very heavy looking clothes brush should make her regret not being better protected and give him a very good view of her rapidly reddening bottom through the thin tights/pantyhose. Another great scene from Firm Hand Spanking. 

Realisation

There are just so many video clips out there where innocents who have never felt the reality of what a pain the backside was really all about, make the mistake of thinking it's all just a laugh and then discover that actually, spankings do hurt. I love this short slip - apparently adopted as an advert by those running the museum - when two girlfriends discover the old whipping table and a conveniently provided birch.

 

I suppose this might be the wrong time to point out to the surprised recipient that it was very rare for sentences of birching to just be a single stroke and that between three and nine strokes was more usual, and that for most of the time that punishment was available to UK courts it would have been administered to the bare buttocks. Now shall we just do it again, but make it more real this time...?

Favourite for September

 

I'm not really a fan of animated GIF files. Because they are, essentially, a series of separate images, those producing them have to be very conscious of managing file size so they tend to keep the dimensions small, low resolution and use fewer individual scenes so the motion is often jerky. It's also pretty rare for them to get the start and end images close enough so that it does look continuous. This isn't a very large image (480x292 pixels) but the resolution's not bad. Of course, if you study this for a while, you can spot the join but it's pretty well done.

It does look like a credible scene of a mother losing it with her teenage daughter. While the denim shorts might initially provide a fair degree of protection, the mother seems very determined and I expect that after the first twenty or so smacks, the daughter would be feeling the heat building in her seat.

Fake or unfortunate?

 

I only came across this very recently and I'm keen to find our what anyone can tell me about it.  First and foremost, is it a fake?

There's a lot of fakery out there and most of it is pretty obvious - there's even one blog devoted to showing off fake spanking pictures (Spanking Fake) but this doesn't look like one of the more obvious ones. It appears to be quite a contemporary image - that style of clothing for an athlete has only really been around in the last ten to fifteen years. Another suggestion would be that it's a spanking model that has posed to make it look as if she's participating in an athletics event. The marks look like clear evidence of a caning so that makes it unlikely to be a US school setting.

So either it's just an image of an athlete that has been photoshopped to introduce the cane marks. Or it's a very cleverly shot spanko scene where the fakery is making you believe it's a college athlete. Or...

Favourite for July

 Definitely one of those where "less is more" - you can write your own story around the scene before you...

Very smartly turned out - probably one of the girls who never gets into trouble for anything. Certainly never found herself in the head's office before. But she knows she's in big trouble this time. She knows of other girls being caught for the same thing who were given the cane. One girl in her own class got six of the best just last term for much the same things and she saw the marks on that girl's bottom when they were in the changing room for PE. Is she going to get the same, or if she turns on the tears, and is suitably apologetic, might her previous good record save her? And either way, is he going to tell her parents because that would be really embarrassing...

Marks and Spankers

I was using the American Amazon site recently to make a purchase not available from the UK version, and while I was there curiosity led me to look up my own writing. Library of Spanking Fiction (LSF) have published a number of my short stories as a Kindle eBook under the title The Spanked Schoolgirl Anthology.  It was nice to see that of those who chose to give it a rating (okay, there were only six of them!) all but one give it four or five stars. The other one gave it three stars and they were the only one to leave a comment. I quote:-

The use of corporal punishment has disappeared from most schools. Too bad because the threat of physical punishment has resulted in trying to find an alternative solution to bad behavior by students. While I agree that punishment should produce some pain I totally disagree with the use of any switch that could produce welts that could cut into the skin. Too much have (sic) of the switch which exceeds normal punishment.

Right. Before I go any further I need to make some things clear. What I write is fantasy. Unlike the writer of the critique, I emphatically don’t believe in returning to an era when classrooms were regularly ‘managed’ by schoolteachers beating their charges. Thankfully, in the UK, it is a thing of the past. In the US it seems to be dwindling but still present in many states. Some of those have a policy of offering ‘swats’ as an alternative to suspension and I suppose, provided there is no coercion, I can see that this might be tolerable so long as everyone is in agreement – especially the recipient. A lot of what I write is based in imaginary British school settings, hence the cane is a frequent element (not really a switch but I guess that’s what he wasn’t happy with).

The reality is that whether your preferred instrument is a cane, belt (tawse), or wooden paddle, hitting someone across their bottom in order to punish is pretty likely to leave marks even when the recipient is fully clothed. I find it strange when people think it’s okay to use physical punishments but have no expectation of marking.

There are quite a few accounts easily found on the internet (mainly from news programmes from the USA) where people are complaining about punishments that have been administered where they don’t object to the idea of physical punishment as such, but object because of the resultant marking. I can understand people taking the view that corporal punishment in schools in the 21^st century is inappropriate. I can understand, although I disagree, where people think corporal punishment should still be used and where a parent for example, has given permission for a school to use corporal punishment on their son/daughter. But then when the school has gone and done so, they seem to then decide object for a variety of reasons.

I’ve seen video clips where the primary objection was that the recipient was held down or that a female pupil was hit by a male member of staff, sometimes with another male acting as an official witness – those also seem like reasonable grounds for objecting even when the parent didn’t object to the idea of physical punishment in the first place. There’s one video where the parents had signed that they didn’t want their daughter to be paddled but she had been (in line with state law) for quite a trivial offence. Again that seems like grounds for a complaint but their actual complaint seemed to be that actually they weren’t opposed to corporal punishment for serious offences, but this had led to bruising. One girl who had been paddled made the comment on camera that the administrator had “made the swat hard on purpose.” Hmm, that’s kind of the idea isn’t it? One male who had been paddled complained that he still had some bruising a week later. That doesn’t really surprise me. Another parent complained that their child had been “left with bruising.” Another male who was paddled said he wasn’t bruised but it had stung for almost an hour. To me the really strange thing is that it is often parents running to the media that get their son/daughter thrust into the full glare of publicity about what they did wrong and the consequences they suffered – if that had been me, I would have preferred to get the punishment for a second time rather than having it splashed all over the press and media.

Quite a few recipients seem to be taken aback by the fact it has really hurt. You actually get the same thing on hundreds of YouTube videos where in a party atmosphere someone volunteers to be whacked and is then shocked to discover that it hurts.

Bizarre. By all means say you totally disagree with any corporal punishment but if you go along with it, that is what happens.

1               The person administering the punishment aims to make it hurt

2               It actually hurts

3               It leaves marks

That’s what it’s all about. Otherwise they could just make you wear a badge saying ‘I’ve been naughty.’

Favourite for June

From the guys at Spanking101 comes this lovely picture of Stevie Rose getting her bottom paddled by Paul "Tubaman" Rogers.

In this scene, lovely Stevie was the last of the four girls to get the paddle. That's not a great place to be as she's had quite a long time to see the others get it and know full well it's going to happen to her very soon.  As her own paddling begins, she seems to be looking to them for some support, and although there is a hint of sympathy there, the other three girls (Devon, Kiki Cali and Reyna McKenzie) are mainly preoccupied with their own very sore bottoms.

As a bonus this month I'll give you an extra picture - this time (from earlier in the shoot) was when Reyna was the first to get her paddling and there's a wonderful look of dread on Stevie's face as she witnesses something she knows will soon be happening to her.

 

Colorising

I have previously reflected on what a shame it is that some of the classic old spanko movies/videos can't be brought up to contemporary production standards - thinking of the classic Debbie ones from NuWest for example.

The same is true for still images - now that computer memory and storage is cheap we can have large high quality colour images whereas in the past we had to make do with a lot of monochrome. Some were clearly never even made in colour - in other cases, it was too expensive to use all colour images in printed magazines. Typical issues of Roué and Janus only had around eight pages of colour out of maybe 64 pages in total, and that included the pretty uninteresting back cover.

However, the technology does now allow us to do something about that - with varying success. There are plenty of packages around to manipulate graphic files, and some that specifically exist solely to allow you to 'colorise' monochrome images. I tend to use Adobe Photoshop and have had some good results and some less good.

I'll start with a couple of examples from Janus. Neither are total disasters but the first example is pretty poor - it certainly doesn't do anything to make the image more attractive or interesting. The second is somewhat better - perhaps unusually so, given that one of the things the Colorize function seems to struggle with is pictures of multiple people with different skin tones - it typically seems to get one right and the other is poor. Clearly in the fourth image shown here, the first girl's bottom is a bit light in colour but that could probably be further adjusted if it really mattered to you.

Moving to an example from Roué...

I think this one has colorised quite effectively although I'm not sure whether I don't still prefer the original B&W - it's a useful reminder that sometimes people select B&W over colour as a matter of preference to create a particular effect.

The remainder, I think, are mostly from NuWest and Shadowlane.

I would say that both of the examples above are quite good - colorising has added something in both cases although, of course, they still look like old pictures.

However, in this case, colorising just hasn't worked at all. If anything it looks like a sepia version of the original. (Not sure of the source for this one - maybe something like Martinet magazine?) 

This one is a bit better although the girl's foot and the spanking hand are rather grey and her face is rather suntanned. It just show the difficulty of a range of skintones.

The two examples above I think have worked rather well although the background in the second example is a bit on the grey side still.

Lastly a personal favourite.

I was thinking for a while that I might use the colorised version as a Favourite of the Month to see if anyone spotted what I'd done. I think this is a really powerful image. You know the situation immediately. The very sombre expression on the faces of the three 'schoolgirls', all clutching their bottoms and the headmistress standing watching them leave her office with her cane still in her hand. I like the image in B&W, a lot. But I do think I prefer the colour version.

What does anyone else think?

Story writing - the process for me

Most people who visit my blog regularly will know that my primary contribution to the CP scene over a number of years has taken the form of short story writing. I started writing CP fiction before I knew there was such a thing - I was writing spanko fiction for my own enjoyment when I was about 9 years old - long before the internet and long before I knew that such things as Janus and Roué existed. My enthusiasm for writing has come in waves and when the internet arrived and I discovered  alt.sex.spanking and then soc.sexuality.spanking I published quite a few stories there. Some of those found their way on to other people's websites a few years later. More recently, I've had a fair few stories up on Library of Spanking Fiction's excellent site and they have put some of them into ebook form. I have had a year or two away from writing for personal reasons but finally finished off a few stories early this year and sent them in, so hopefully they'll appear on LSF fairly soon.

A large proportion of what I write is in a school setting and 95% of the recipients of the punishments are female. Usually the characters are contemporary - they dress and behave like people of that age do today and they have mobile phones, the internet and so on. However, the disciplinary regime they live under belongs more to the 1950s. I like to try to come up with some original storylines - there are a lot of recurring themes out there! Sometimes, I'll follow one of the standard story lines and then put a twist in the tail.

A few weeks ago I had a sudden flurry of ideas for some new stories, made a few quick notes of the synopses and started writing one of them. It was a bit standard perhaps but I really enjoyed the writing process and getting to know my main character as she developed through the events I put her through. Suddenly a very different ending evolved and I would never have expected the story to end the way it did. There was a real euphoria at that point. It is about 7,000 words, so not all that short, and I will need to let it rest for a month or so and then proof read it. However, the surge of enthusiasm for writing has totally gone now. A definite case of 'drop' after the euphoria.

Favourite for May

 

If you're choosing to view this page, then the favourite image for May probably has you thinking much the same way as I do. Great legs and the sort of ridiculously short skirt that opaque black tights have facilitated. I must say that I do not condone non-consensual sexual assault and I never believe that the way someone dresses indicates that "they're asking for it." However, I do know that I would very much like to flip up that skirt and give her bottom a few sharp swats with that usefully provided ping-pong bat.

Favourite for April

Whilst I feel that images purporting to depict school punishment scenarios lack credibility once clothing starts to be removed, I don't have the same qualms about domestic settings. Therefore I have no problem with a scene where a naughty young lady is made to remove her clothing, such as it was, to be put over her father's lap for a very heavy spanking in the living room, and is then ordered up to her bedroom for an early bed.  Although she might ordinarily be embarrassed by those present seeing her running up the stairs naked, on this occasion they've just seen everything there is to see anyway and what's more they've just witnessed her sobbing her eyes out as she was subject to a very thorough walloping, and she just wants to get to the privacy of her own room as soon as possible.

David Adams art

I've always had a bit of an interest in drawings relating to TTWD because they sometimes bring a freshness and originality that is hard to get in posed photos. In recent times I've seen quite a few images popping up under the name D Adams but I know very little about them. I believe that are derived from photographs but then given a bit of a twist. I discovered in the last couple of days that there is now a D Adams blog and is run by David himself - if you like spanking art it's definitely worth a look so I've added it to my blogroll. The blog is hosted on the BDSMLR platform so you get limited access unless you get yourself a free BDSMLR account so that you can log on to the platform. In the meantime, here's some examples...
