There's a lot of fakery out there and most of it is pretty obvious - there's even one blog devoted to showing off fake spanking pictures (Spanking Fake) but this doesn't look like one of the more obvious ones. It appears to be quite a contemporary image - that style of clothing for an athlete has only really been around in the last ten to fifteen years. Another suggestion would be that it's a spanking model that has posed to make it look as if she's participating in an athletics event. The marks look like clear evidence of a caning so that makes it unlikely to be a US school setting.
So either it's just an image of an athlete that has been photoshopped to introduce the cane marks. Or it's a very cleverly shot spanko scene where the fakery is making you believe it's a college athlete. Or...

I will guess that the photo is unaltered, but what we see are scrapes and bruises from a fall.

James, this is no accident with equipment. This is the All American Collegiate Championships earlier in the Spring. And this athlete gotten her bare backside skelped at home with the "rod" for routine brattitude adjustment. So far so normal. And then she gotten ready for the athletics meet. Simple!

Why, yes, it is simply a rite of passage for naughty lil' princess brats to arrive at track n field having gotten the fairy-tender skin skelped off of our chubby-soft, marshmallow-pouty, squishy-white, botty-waggons, Brigitte. It was normal. And it was oh so necessary!

Hi there. Sorry to get in on this so late, but this is kind of a pet interest of mine: uncovering fakes. I used Google search to see if I could find the unaltered shot as I am often able to, but no other came up. Then I took the image into a Photoshop type program of my own and was quite easily able to add more, very similar bruises, with no trouble at all. You'll also notice that the person creating these marks was trying to render the classic twin-tracks of a caning. However, if you look at actual caned behinds the marks on one buttock line up with those on the other, with the right cheek often being darker. Here the right side is darker but the strokes don't align. I know of few instances where cheeks are caned independently and if they were the color intensity would match.
It is my experience with shots like this that 99.9% are faked. Some are easier to spot than others and I have catalogued many that have appeared in countless places as proof of public exposure of discipline that I would later find the original unblemished source of.
Sorry to disappoint, but remember the old adage: "if it seems too good to be true......it probably is." Periodically I post the before-and-afters on my blog, but there are so many now that I just don't even bother. I'd bet serious coin there's an image around somewhere of this girl with a perfectly unscathed behind.

Reader's Digest recap? Fake. The marks don't line up and such markings are easily Photoshopped. In fact I took this same image and added more in a program I have in a mater of minutes and they looked identical. 99.9% of these public shots are faked, and I have a nice collection of before-and-afters that prove it. Unfortunately a Google search did not produce an original for this, but I would bet serious coin one is out there.

I don't know if that is fake or not, but I do recall reading an illustrated story where the Mistress caned her charge and then took him to the beach wearing a bathing suit that showed many cane strokes. I showed the story to a spanking friend that was happy to recreate the cane weals on my bare bottom. We didn't go to the beach, but she did send me to my gym, where the stripes were on display as I showered.
