Summoned to the headmaster's office for using bad language in the classroom, Debra is very apprehensive. With good reason. He has a reputation for caning pupils hard across their bottoms, and behaviour such as hers might just warrant such a response, if he's in a bad mood. And it does appear as if he's in a very bad mood this afternoon. His lecture to her about ladylike behaviour goes on and on he really rips into her. Still unsure if she will be caned ot if he'll deem the tongue lashing to be sufficient on this occasion, Debra can feel her eyes beginning to water. She didn't want to let him see her crying but it's not something she can control.
