Very smartly turned out - probably one of the girls who never gets into trouble for anything. Certainly never found herself in the head's office before. But she knows she's in big trouble this time. She knows of other girls being caught for the same thing who were given the cane. One girl in her own class got six of the best just last term for much the same things and she saw the marks on that girl's bottom when they were in the changing room for PE. Is she going to get the same, or if she turns on the tears, and is suitably apologetic, might her previous good record save her? And either way, is he going to tell her parents because that would be really embarrassing...

Hands on head...but, pray, will we hear the resounding SMACK of rattan cane upon a naughty, bare schoolgirl botty ? Why, alas, sadly no! Her skirt & knickers will be suffered in situ, for sure. Although at least she will not enjoy that luxury in the study at home for the cane, thank the Lord, after her parents gotten informed by the Head, and with skirt hoisted; her sensible, cotton panties will be hugging the tops of her cutey, white socks for sober chastisement on the bare, orthodox surface.
In summary: the cane at school is upon clothed buttocks. The cane at home is upon unclothed buttocks.
My sister & me never gotten corporal punishment (the paddle) at school but corporal punishment at home was frequent & normal. For us at home, it was always dresses up & panties pulled down for the cane on a bare bottom from mom. We sure screamed & squawked to Hell n back, but that was simply how it gotten done in the 1960s. A blistered backside was nothing but normal after misbehaviour & caning over protective coverings AKA clothes, was none too fashionable in traditional, no-nonsense homes.
Quite right too, James. Oh my! Whoopings were harsh, harmless and necessary for discipline & strict well-being. Snowflakes were not yet invented. Or is it "wellness" these days ?

No, she won't be caned. She is too nice, far too polite and she won't lie. The head, confronted with the opposite of his usual attitude problems will tell her off but not cane her. Pop... there goes another dream for you all. No need to thank me.
