Furniture (Part 6)

Of course, not all spanking furniture is designed for use on adult web sites with a BDSM tendency.  Some have been produced for the real thing so for this penultimate foray into deliberately designed spanking furniture, we have some examples from the world of judicial punishments.

Many of these are now to be found in museums and always make a visit to any new museum a potentially exciting discovery.  The first one is a fairly through example with the ankles clapped at one end land the head and hands put through the holes at the far end and a sturdy leather strap to secure the target area tightly to the hard unyielding wood. Just simply being stripped and fastened into this rather cruel device would be likely to reduce the subject to a blubbering mess. 

This version does't go to the same lengths to secure the subject with just two holes, presumably for the arms to go through and then I would expect they would be tied together or handcuffed. There are straps to secure the ankles and clearly this was to be used for conducting birchings as we have such an implement left lying on the table for use next time. 

This looks like a big heavy device with lots of straps to secure the subject bent over the end of the table - again this is probably typical of furniture for carrying out a birching. 

Then we have two trestles that could be used to secure someone prior to a caning or whipping  At first glance they looks like they might be designed to hold something like a blackboard but the straps for securing the subject tell a different story in these examples from the CORPUN website. 

Of course the internet also has some example of judicial punishments actually being carried out.  The first example from Pakistan shows the subject tied to a trestle very like those above and fully clothed for a public caning.

Much more brutal is this example of a caning being conducted inside a Malaysian prison where the target area is bare and it is not surprising that the relatively flimsy trestle is being supported by soldiers because the cane frequently breaks the skin on such occasions and the subject is likely to be in a sever state of distress. 

If museums leave whipping furniture lying around they can't really be too surprised if visitors sometimes feel compelled to see how it would have been used.  In this case the subject has allowed her wrists to be tethered but although there is rope for securing her ankle as well that doesn't seem to have been used here and would probably not be all that necessary.  Incidentally I haven't seen any other pictures from this event so I don't know if they simply posed like this for the photo or whether she really did get that hefty rod across her rather shapely bottom. 

To be honest I think I've cheated a bit here because I think this is more likely to be from a BDSM site than begin a genuine judicial device  but it would''t surprise me if it was based on an original design from judicial use.  It's a wonderfully heavy looking piece of furniture and I especially like the very cruel metal hasps for the ankles and wrists.  The subject would be very completely immobilised and uncomfortable.
