Furniture (Part 3)

Now we come to what I previously termed "accidental furniture" - it was never designed or purchased with a view to it being an aid for administering corporal punishment but since it's there...

First off we have a fairly simple use of a bed simply for leaning on, courtesy of SpankingTeenBrandi,  It means the bottom is nicely presented and probably helps the subject to stay in place but it still leaves the onus on them to do so.  It may slightly limit forward movement at the point of impact but the reality is that it's really just slightly more comfortable than grabbing your ankles.

Probably the most common use of a bed is for the subject to simply lie face down on it, perhaps with their buttocks slightly raised by some well placed pillows.  That again doesn't really impede movement very much but it does put a very effective stop to forward movement meaning that pretty well the full force of each stroke will be felt.  In this rather more unusual and innovative use by Girls Boarding School the girl is over the end of the bed with elbows to the floor.  Again it fully stops the forward motion of the target area and it would be quite difficult for the subject to move very quickly to try to escape from the punishment altogether.  It's comfortable enough for her to be made to stay in that position for some time - either before or after the caning (or both) - and the bottom is beautifully presented for the person delivering the caning to be able to very accurately place the strokes to maximum effect across the full depth of her buttocks including the tender area at the top of her thighs.

Moving on to the most traditional way of using a chair, this scene comes from Spanked At Home, although it's probably more reminiscent of the way that canings were often delivered in the headmaster's office.  Once again the chair provides little structural support but probably makes it easier for the subject to stay in place and avoid additional punishment than would the case in the touch toes position.

In this example we see the use of chairs in the way described by Targetrear, in comment on the first post in this series, as the Eton position.  At first glance of this image from Spanking Digital, the level of restraint seems minimal but the reality is that the arms of the chairs mean the subject is rather more trapped than it appears.  Again with a cushioned seat to kneel on, the subject could be made to wait in position for some time contemplating what was about to happen, and of course the bottom is quite nicely presented although rather less vulnerable to low strokes than the GBS example over the end of the bed. 

Chairs aren't all about comfort - I'm quite sure that this position would have been most uncomfortable and there is a high risk of the subject falling - that in itself adds a lot to the punishment with the uncomfortable top of the chair back cutting in, and the subject having to really concentrate to avoid falling from this precarious perch.  My concerned would be that this may distract slightly from the main business of delivering a sore bottom and accurate delivery may be difficult as the subject is unlikely to be keeping very still. 

Settees and sofas present some versatile opportunities generally supporting the buttocks and allowing the subject to wait in relative comfort.  By making the subjects reach for the far edge of the seat cushion it also means that their head is quite low and they're unlikely to be able to see as a stroke of the paddle, cane or strap is about to be delivered.  Altogether a nice image from SpankingScenes on this occasion suggesting a fairly ritualised and drawn out punishment. 

By contrast, in this scene which I suspect comes from part of the Xerotics empire, there is something altogether more rushed about the scene - it does look as if the girl has almost been thrown over the end of the sofa but again, because her head is quite low, it can be used to make it difficult for her to anticipate the coming strokes. 

Lastly for today, this use of a table by SpankingOnline, gives an absolutely classic position for a formal school caning.  Made to look straight ahead the subject won't see the cane coming down although she may hear it, but she's going nowhere anyway.  The table edge stops her pushing her bottom forward and she's clearly been instructed to grip the edges of the table in a classic pose to help her to keep in place while she endures what is clearly going to be a very painful scene.
