Those Chinese videos...

I would guess most of the spanko community has seen some of the plethora of Chinese videos that hit the scene recently, mainly on TikTok and YouTube. It started with pairs of players doing the old classic rock-paper-scissors game, where the winner got to whack the loser with an implement - mostly resembling a paddle, a cane or a belt and invariably across their bottom while they bent forward submissively.

The initial torrent of videos may have abated a little but there are also plenty of new ones. It's difficult to reliably keep track of when already posted videos have been reposted from other accounts. There have also been some variations - some great fun and others rather confusing. The confusing ones are particularly those where more than two players take part. So, for example, there are quite a few with two boys and one girl - one boy challenges the girl to the rock-paper-scissors game. If she wins she gets to whack both of the boys but if she loses, each of the boys gets to whack her. It's not rocket science to calculate that each outcome has a 50:50 chance of happening, meaning she is going to get hit twice as many times as either of them. I struggle to see how she is persuaded to agree to that.

Then there have been several videos where they use large elastic bands (resistance bands?) stretched tightly around the loser and then released giving a sharp stinging impact on a quite precisely controlled area. There has also been a bit more variation in targets. Perhaps it's a surprise that sometimes they have been delivered to bare legs, for example, leaving the 'victim' with very publicly visible marks.

Right from the outset, they seem to have played these games with little concern about being overseen by others. However, there have been a handful of video clips starting to appear in very public settings such as a busy shopping district. The lack of intervention by those passing by might suggest that there is, at least in some places, quite widespread knowledge and acceptance of the games.

There have also been a few where, instead of bending forward, the 'victim' is lying face down on a bench or table and they are beaten with what appear to be really large planks of wood. While these may seem strange to the Western eye, they probably reflect a form of punishment that was quite widespread in the past in China.

There have also been some alternative games to replace rock-paper-scissors. The most popular seems to be the use of large dice. Although initial use seemed to be restricted to 'largest number wins' they have mostly moved on to the loser getting the number of strokes reflected by the winner's throw. Sometimes it's not competitive - the boy throws and gives the girl the number he's thrown and then she throws and gives him the number she's thrown. Very occasionally I have seen a loser having to endure six hard strokes - unfortunately, the girls seem to very rarely be able to stay in position throughout the punishment.

There are a very large number of accounts posting - I have counted 38 TikTok accounts (the most prolific being @thutrangcl, @thichdangvd, @qupewss11, and most prolific of all @tieutudi) and well over 60 YouTube channels (most prolific being Girl's funny, Man man, and Funny Brave Challenge). Another YouTube channel called Anokha channel D posted a lot of videos but now seems to have gone a bit quieter - the interesting thing here is that whereas most clips are around 3-5 minutes long, on this last channel their clips are compilations usually running to 11-15 minutes).

One interesting development I've noticed recently is that some TikTok postings have had a warning notice posted on them.

Look right to the bottom of this screen. I would have thought this was rather unnecessary and obvious to anyone. I wonder if there are any people in other countries who are ready to risk disregarding the warning...

Favourite for July

 

Many years ago, I can remember reading a scholarly piece of research into different attitudes to punishing boys and girls, both at school and at home. Sadly, I didn't keep a copy (not a mistake I would make if I came across something like that today!) and I can't remember the exact figures they had come up with. I'll make some fairly credible statistics to illustrate what they found.

There were three main conclusions:

1. Both boys and girls did receive corporal punishment on occasion, but
2. Boys were eight times more likely to receive corporal punishment than girls, however
3. Girls were almost twice as likely to have clothing moved or removed for the punishment

The second conclusion was explained by the view that boys were more likely to do bad things than girls and that even if they did the same thing, people were more reluctant to use corporal punishment on girls than they were on boys. The third conclusion was explained that if a girl was wearing a skirt it was relatively easy to lift the skirt out of the way and that having done so it was also relatively easy to pull her underwear down. With boys wearing trousers it was more fiddly and time-consuming to do something similar. I think there's another issue which, as I remember it, the report authors did not consider. When a person wearing trousers needs to bend over to get smacked, caned, paddled or whatever across their bottom, the bending process simply causes the material in the trousers to be stretched more tightly, thereby making the punishment more effective. However, when a girl wearing a skirt or dress bends over, in many cases the lower hem will actually impede the punishment, thus leading the person conducting the punishment to decide it is necessary to move it out of the way.

In English schools, in the era when the cane ruled the schoolroom, there were, unquestionably, occasions when a girl would be the recipient of a caning. However, as time moved on, there was growing unease about caning a girl's bottom. Some schools changed their rules so that if girls had to be caned, it weould be given across the palms of their hands. Others changed their rules so that boys could be caned across their bottoms, but for the fairer sex, a 'slipper' would be used instead because it was seen as less severe. The 'slipper' in practice was more commonly a gymshoe/plimsoll/dab/sandshoe or whatever it was known as in your part of the country.

And so we come to this month's favourite picture. It's unusual for me to choose a B&W image but somehow it seems to add to the potential believability of the scene. And there is little doubt, that on occasions, a badly behaved schoolgirl would have found herself being told to touch her toes, the schoolteacher realising that the hem of the skirt would impede the punishment, lifting it up and folding it on to the girl's back, and then delivering some hard stinging whacks across her tightly stretched regulation school knickers.

Caned Every Day revisited

I wrote earlier this year about a curious film called Caned Every Day published under the Miss Marchmont imprint.

It was very clearly intended to be the follow-up to the film That'll Teach Them which ended with the three girls being warned that they would be caned every day for a week if they broke the rules again. The only part of Caned Every Day that ever seemed to make it to film was supposedly day 2 of such a punishment because their headmistress says that they are to be caned today, as they were yesterday, and in fact, will be caned every day this week. We've never seen any evidence of day one being filmed - it might have been that the plan was that on day one they would be allowed to keep some clothing on over their bottoms so it could be filmed last when the girls' bottoms were already marked from four 'days' of caning.

However, what I did recently come across was a single image that appears to come from another 'day'.

It's not the best of quality but it is clearly in the same room as the canings that made their way to film. It features Miss Brown and the girl known in the film as Elaine. However, in the 'day' that made it to film the girls entered the room one by one in full school uniform. They bent over and Miss Brown turned back their skirts and pulled down their knickers before caning them. This time Elaine has had to remove her gymslip - we can't tell whether or not she had been made to take her own knickers down or not. But, it's clearly evidence that more of the story was filmed. I'm now more curious than ever to know what really happened to prevent the whole 'week' from making it to film.

Favourite for June

They do say that every day's a school day. On this particular day, Barbara found herself doing a lot of learning and in charge of that learning was her boyfriend.

"It's not a request - it's a requirement. Either you apologise to my mother or you get a smacked bottom."

At which point Barbara laughed. She laughed because talk of a smacked bottom was the sort of thing that might apply to a little kid but not to a 22-year-old woman expecting to graduate in a few weeks with a first-class honours degree in Electrical Engineering. So it was just a euphemism, wasn't it?

Had it been a euphemism he might not have taken exception to her laughing at what he said.

So the first thing she learned was that a four-foot-eleven-inch engineering student, if she was unprepared and not expecting this to happen, could fly through the air remarkably quickly and land across his knee and over the back of the sofa. The next thing she learned was his reference to a smacked bottom was anything but a euphemism. She would have thought, strictly speaking, that 'a spanked bottom' might have been a more accurate description than 'smacked bottom' but wisely decided that this was not a good time to correct his English usage.

She was also rapidly learning that her favourite brief denim shorts which she had always thought made her look really sexy were not very effective at providing much in the way of physical protection. At the same time, she was learning that all the time and money he had invested in his gym membership was really paying off in terms of the strength in his upper arms as the one kept her very firmly pinned down and the other walloped her bottom mercilessly.

The final element of learning was the realisation that no amount of crying and saying she was sorry was going to make one jot of difference until he felt the point had been well made.

Favourite for May

Ask anyone, they would tell you that Emily was an exemplary pupil. She was never, ever, in trouble. Zero detentions, never sent out of class, nothing. Some of the other girls in her class saw her as boring and too much of a goody two shoes. They would, secretly at least, love to see her getting into trouble, just for once.

So they'd probably be smirking right now. You only got sent to the headmistress if you'd done something really bad. Two of the toughest girls in her class had been in her office earlier this year after a series of incidents and any number of detentions and they'd both come back to class crying their eyes out because Mrs Jenkins had caned them. Her canings were the stuff of legend - bent over the back of a chair and at least four but often six very hard strokes across their bottoms. Jenny Wales had the full six after she'd been caught smoking at the time she should have been in detention. Pat Roberts got four for not attending a detention. She'd been especially unfortunate because they had a PE class immediately after her encounter with Mrs Jenkins so everyone in the class, including Emily, had seen the red tramlines on Pat's bottom and they were seriously scary.

Emily's best friend Melissa had been sent to Mrs Jenkins earlier this year. She'd been a bit unlucky because she'd forgotten to bring her French homework in. It was a genuine mistake but their French teacher was getting fed up with people not doing homework and decided to make an example of Melissa. Mrs Jenkins had kept her waiting outside the office for what seemed like an eternity and had then given her a real tongue-lashing for a good fifteen minutes. Melissa had left the office in tears even though the headmistress never laid a finger on her.

Emily was really scared as she made her way to the office for her scheduled downfall. Her legs felt like jelly, she wanted to be sick, and she wasn't sure she'd even make it to the office. Of course, like Melissa, she had a previously unblemished record, so she tried to convince herself that she was heading for a frightful telling off and it would be awful but it would be over soon. On the other hand, there was a world of difference between forgetting to bring your homework in, and calling the art teacher, Mrs Connor, a "stupid old bat" - not exactly to her face, but close enough and loud enough to know it would be heard.

She reached the outer office and with a deep breath went in. The secretary looked up.

"Emily Cooper - I'm here to see Mrs Jenkins."

She consulted the diary in front of her.

"Well you'll need to wait outside because she's on a phone call with the Chair of Governors at present but let me just check... Oh yes, there's a note here." The secretary stood up and opened a cupboard. To Emily's horror, she took out a cane and handed it to the terrified girl. "Right, take a seat outside and wait for her to call you in. You'll need to take this in with you."

Emily was already crying as she sat down. She'd never even seen a real punishment cane before let alone handled one. It felt so lightweight. It was hard to believe the reputation it had. But there was no point now in thinking she might get away with just being told off. And if she was caned all her classmates would know and some of them would make fun of her. The school would probably tell her parents as well so she'd have to face them, and if anyone walked past the office right now they'd see her with the cane and they'd know as well.

Beware the internet

There are three types of spanko in this world.

Some have very high visibility public profiles - I'm thinking Sarah Gregory, Clare Fonda, Ariel Anderssen, Pandora Blake, Jillian Keegan and so forth. They are so open about their active interest that pretty well most people who know them will also be fully aware of their proclivities. They are not the slightest bit concerned by the thought that someone who comes across them outside of the realms of spanking will probably learn about their spanking interests and activities sooner or later.

At the other extreme are those who guard their identity and interests very carefully and make sure that people they encounter in their day-to-day lives will never learn about their spanking interests. The truth is that many people fall into the third category, to a greater or lesser extent.

The very first time I met someone in real life who I knew was a very active person in the world of spanking and whose face would be recognised by many readers of this blog, I was immediately relaxed and found them incredibly easy to talk to. When I went home I began thinking about how open I'd been. Taking a few keywords from things I'd said I dived into Google. It took me less than a minute for those keywords to throw up some photographs of me with my non-scene name and details of where I worked. I wasn't (and I'm still not) worried - I trust this person completely.

Some people go further and have posted photos of themselves on sites only likely to be viewed by other people with similar interests such as FetLife or Spanknet. They would argue that there is no reason why people seeing them there would have any reason to 'out' them to the outside world. Some people will even have gone as far as having modelled for spanking-related websites and still feel confident that those without an interest in spanking and CP would never see them. They may also have their face pictured on vanilla sites, and the problem lies therein.

There is a very clever search engine out there called Facecheck ID. It uses facial recognition to scan the internet for people it thinks might match an image you provide. There are lots of reasons why this could be useful. For example, if you get friendly with someone and have some concerns about their past you could search and might find images of the same person linked to some criminal activity or other nefarious enterprise. Or, when someone ‘meets’ a person through a dating site and that person is on the other side of the world, it could help them to uncover that the person they are communicating with has been sending them another person’s images to create a fake identity.

I have played around with the search engine – right now you only get five free searches and you need to be patient as you’re usually in a long queue, but it’s very interesting. I put in a photo of myself that is not on the internet and searched. It did find two actual images of me from sites which it indicated were highly probable matches (it ranks all of those it suggests}. It also found several more that were not me but which it was less sure about – several were of a very high-profile actor, but I can assure you that it isn’t flattering to look like him! I then tried putting in the face of a spanko model, partly because I was curious if they had worked for any sites I hadn’t seen before. The first model I tried, I did find several matches from well-known sites and then a few others it was less sure about who I was confident were not the same person. The second model I tried, the search engine also identified with high probability a few matches from the sort of sites I was expecting but then there was one, a bit less confident match, that looked very much to me like the person in question. Curious, I followed the link and was able to confirm it was the same person and the site was completely unrelated to their spanking activity.

The problem is that someone interested in a person’s vanilla world might use Facecheck ID to see if they can find more sites featuring their vanilla activity, could suddenly see images of the person in their non-vanilla work.

You do need to be careful out there!

Caned in front of the school

When I published my Favourite for April last week I promised to talk about how the Spanked In Uniform website handled a caning in school assembly.

It came in the second part of their video St Catherine's School For Girls - Punishment PE. Of course, we don't see the "whole school" watching but we do see the headmaster and the always lovely Kami Robinson on a platform at the front of a large hall. The headmaster makes some announcements to the school while Kami is standing facing a corner wearing a top, white knickers and knee socks with her hands on her head. The headmaster announces her crime and summons her to the stage to be caned. With her back to the "audience" she has to touch her toes and gets six strokes across her knickers. Then she is told to lower her knickers to her knees to let the whole school see her bottom. As she does so there is some canned laughter from the assembly. He also threatens two girls at the front that they could be joining Kami on the stage if they don't behave. The two apparently continue to attract his attention as the caning continues and he tells them to report to his office straight after assembly. After Kami's caning, she is told to turn to face the assembly before pulling up her knickers and leaving the stage.

It's not perfect but it is a very good stab at a caning in front of the school. It captures really well how embarrassing it would be for a pupil to be caned in front of the whole school and particularly because of the laughter it would have been really humiliating. Having to turn to face the whole school at the end of the punishment would have really been upsetting for anyone.

Canings in front of the whole school did really happen, albeit very rarely and never on the bare bottom. Shame that they couldn't find a similar solution for Caned Every Day.

Favourite for April

This still is taken from a slightly odd video from the Miss Marchmont stable. It has the title Caned Every Day and to understand what is happening (or meant to happen) you really need to go back to an earlier video with the same cast and studio called That'll Teach 'Em.

In That'll Teach 'Em the story, set in 1953, has three sixth-form girls who have been caught shoplifting. To avoid bad publicity for the school, the headmistress (Miss Brown of Strictly Miss Brown fame) has persuaded the shopkeeper to let her deal with them. They have to write a letter of apology to the shopkeeper and explain how they've been punished before they go through a series of bare-bottom punishments.

Once they've made a start on their letters, the first girl whom she calls Elaine is ordered to stand up and the headmistress removes her sash and gymslip; Elaine is then told to loosen her tie and then the headteacher removes the tie, unbuttons her blouse and orders its removal.  Elaine is now wearing just her vest, knickers, socks and shoes. The head then takes down her knickers before making an entry in the School Corporal Punishment Book. Elaine is then ordered over the headmistress's lap and given a lengthy hand spanking - I reckon she gets over two hundred pretty solid smacks before being told to stand up. She is then sent to stand against the wall giving the other two girls a good view of her bright red bottom knowing that theirs will soon be looking like that.

Then Melanie (aka Nicky Montford) is called forward and goes through the same drawn-out process. If anything, I think the headmistress smacks Melanie rather harder than Elaine but then Nicky had a reputation for being able to take it. Finally, Elaine is ordered back to her seat with her bare bottom directly on the wooden chair and Melanie takes her place facing the wall. Christine is taken forward and the headmistress makes a point of saying she didn't expect this sort of behaviour from her, implying that the other two are more frequently in trouble. She is put through a similar routine of disrobing, punishment book and spanking. Then she swaps places with Melanie and Elaine is ordered back out to the front.

So it's back over the lap of the headmistress and this time she gets about fifty with the back of a wooden hairbrush across her bottom. As you might expect, this gets even more reaction than the earlier hand spanking, Christine is allowed to retake her seat and Elaine is ordered to stand. If she's expecting any respite she's in for a shock as the headmistress gives her about twenty-five hard smacks across the backs of her thighs. She is then told to sit. The other girls now know just what to expect and the headmistress delivers.

Each girl is called out in turn to the front of the class to receive six with a wooden ruler across the palm of each hand. They are then informed that the final part of the punishment is that each of them will receive twelve strokes of the cane across their bottom.

This time they are ordered to line up and come forward, one at a time, to bend with hands on their knees and receive that caning. Elaine is first, again, and demonstrates a complete inability to stay in position. After each stroke, she's standing up and putting her hands to her bottom. I am frankly amazed that she isn't given extra for this. If I had been delivering the caning I might have warned her once but after that, she would be getting extra penalty strokes. The headmistress shows remarkable tolerance and lets her take her place back in the line after six strokes. By now she has some clear red lines across her already red bottom but perhaps rather less pronounced than I might expect from a full-on bare-bottom caning. The other two girls are called forward and they also get six although they do a much better job of staying in position although Christine does put her hands to her bottom after the second stroke but remains bent over.

Then Elaine is called forward once more. First, she is instructed to remove her vest and then to bend over again, but this time touching her toes. She probably takes the second dose of six slightly better than the first but I would still have been awarding penalties for moving. Christine does again put her hands to her bottom a couple of times. Still, she does much better than Elaine and, as we might expect, Melanie, of course, provides an exemplary standard of keeping in position although she can't avoid a few cries of discomfort and looks really contrite when she takes her place back in the line.

The punishment is just about over but before they are dismissed they are warned that any repeat of this behaviour they will not only be caned in her office but also caned every day in assembly in front of the whole school. She then collects their letters of apology and leaves so the girls can get dressed and return to their dormitory.

This leads us to the second film - Caned Every Day featuring my Favourite of the Month image. So you can pretty well guess that they have done something wrong again and are to be caned every day for a week. The headmistress is in her room and we hear a knock at the door. The first to come in is Christine. She is in full school uniform and is told to bend over. She puts her hands somewhere close to her ankles. As the headmistress folds her skirt back she tells the unfortunate girl that this will be the second time she will have been caned this week and that she is to be caned every day this week. She then pulls the girl's knickers down and we get to see her bottom. There are some lines from a previous caning but much fainter than you might expect if she'd been given a proper caning the day before. She gets twelve strokes again - in one go this time - before she is told to pull her knickers up and straighten herself out. She is then dismissed and told to send the next girl.

Next to enter the room is Melanie who is told to bend over. While the headmistress folds back her skirt and pulls down her knickers, the girl is reminded that she also is going to be caned every day this week. She has adopted a complete hands-on-toes pose and takes the full twelve strokes without moving her hands once, She is then told to stand, pull up her knickers straighten herself out and then leave and send in the next girl.

The next girl, of course, is Elaine. She is told to bend over and just puts her hands on her knees and the headmistress turns back her dress and pulls down her knickers before reminding the girl that she is also going to receive the cane every day this week. Every single cane stroke has Elaine standing up and rubbing her bottom. The headmistress seems to show great tolerance although after six strokes she asks Elaine to think about how sore her bottom will be by the end of the week. She does seem to use a bit more force with the last few strokes and Elaine's bottom is much more marked by the time she is told to pull up her knickers and sort out her clothing.

She is told to get back to her class and she leaves. And that's it. End of film.

So what happened to the rest? And what happened to the threat to cane them in front of the school?  The second video runs for less than ten minutes compared to nearly an hour for the first. Maybe they couldn't think how to avoid it being too repetitive but it would surely have been possible. We also miss an opening scene where their offence is discussed and the penalty stated. Maybe the offence is a little less serious this time but we'll never know. Obviously filming a scene where they were caned in front of their school assembly would be difficult. Maybe that comment was just an ad-lib in the first video.

But a caning in front of the school is not impossible - another studio, Spanked In Uniform, performs such an event which I'll talk about next week.

I do feel that Caned Every Day could have been so much better. We could have seen them being told off for behaviour that was bad but less serious than the last time. It could however be bad enough to warrant a caning every day for a week. Day one could have been on the seat of the girl's skirts, day two on their knickers, day three on their bare bottoms and day four fully nude. Lastly, on day five they could have had a go at staging a caning in front of the school or at least in front of their class.

Regular readers of my blog will know that I long for more school scenes where they're not punished bare bottom but I have to accept I'm in a minority. As for those taking part in this scene, Miss Brown and Nicky Montford are well known. I'm pretty sure I've seen the girl playing Christine in other spanko scenes - could do with a better wig but otherwise quite credible. The girl playing Elaine, I'm not sure I have seen her anywhere else but I do like her. Her inability to keep still irritates me and needs to be addressed but she looks good. The whole notion of punishing pupils with a whole week of canings was fresh and original. I've never heard of it in real life, but who knows? Shame they didn't carry it through.

Olympics

What is this new sport they're bringing to the Olympic Games? I'd be willing to train really hard to earn a place on the team.

David Adams

I've long admired the artwork of David Adams which can be found, along with his short stories on his Girl Spanking Stories blog. I think it's always especially impressive when a single simple drawing takes you right back into the moment.

At my school, caning was very much a last resort. When someone had managed to trigger that sanction the person or persons concerned would usually have a pretty good idea that they were for it, but not when. Then a teacher would turn up for the start of a lesson and tell the unlucky victim(s) that they were to report immediately to the office of the headmaster or deputy headmaster. I never had that experience myself but it must have been chilling to realise your time had come and to try to show no emotion as you left the classroom, all eyes on you but trying to look at the ground and just get out as soon as possible. They would be gone for, maybe, around fifteen minutes and then they would return looking, at best, ashen-faced, and try to quickly take their seat - desperate not to be the centre of attention. Of course, everyone else in the class would be wanting to know what had happened but there was no way to find out until the end of the lesson when the pack would descend like starved hyenas and force them to tell all. For the remainder of the lesson all we could do was try to surreptitiously glance in their direction for glimmers of reaction. You had to be careful - it the teacher saw you looking at them they would probably throw a difficult question at you to shift the embarrassment temporarily in your direction. For those who had just been caned, they would be sitting there a little gingerly, trying not to show any evidence of how excruciatingly painful their experience had been, and how they now had a dull throbbing in their backside. And, worst of all, they were soon to be deluged with questions.
