Venn diagrams and coincidence

Okay, this is going to sound weird (what's new) but bear with me. For some reason I found myself thinking about Venn Diagrams this morning - remember them from school maths? You draw circles where the area represents the size of a population and some parts of the circles overlap because some entities belong to more than one population. So if you draw a large circle representing how many people support Manchester United and another one representing how many people live in Manchester, there will be an overlap (quite a small one...) representing those Manchester United supporters who actually live in Manchester. You get the idea.

Well, I've no idea why this thought process came about but I was thinking about a Venn Diagram showing a circle representing spankos and another representing nudists and thinking that those who fell into the overlap (pun intended) area could have quite a difficult time. Now, anyone who isn't a spanko will just think I'm nuts, but I'm sure fellow spankos have these bizarre thoughts all the time (please, reassure me that it's not just me!).

Anyway, what was weird was this afternoon I came across a new website I hadn't looked at before and came across this picture of two people who clearly fit into that overlap category of my diagram...

Nothing like being stuck in one place...

...for twelve hours with nothing to do for starting a bit of creativity. I used to write a lot of spanking stories and as per usual I still have about eight or nine unfinished (or unstarted ideas). One I had an idea but just couldn't see how to make it work, another I was close to finishing but couldn't come up with an ending, another needed a twist to make it different to any others I've written or read. By the end of a very boring (otherwise) 12 hours they're all back on track. One question - do people still read spanking fiction? If so what's the most convenient form to publish? PDF files perhaps? Not sure how the security works with them - I know how to strip out personal details from Microsoft Word files but it's not a good distribution format but I'm not sure what might be buried in a PDF - anyone help?

Incidentally it's a good distraction from on-going health concerns.

Pain

I may not be a sub - I am definitely a top - but I can also switch a bit, and so I can get a rush of adrenalin and endorphins from pain in a play setting like many people. However, there's pain and then there's pain. Since my last blog I've been in a pretty nasty accident. I'm not hospitalised but I had a nice man come and stick a needle in my bum to reduce pain and redness which I might ordinarily have found amusing. Bit of a humour bypass at present. I've been given some of the heaviest duty painkillers they allow you to go around with but they're not working. I can't sleep, lie down, sit up, walk.... you get the picture. Right now I'm feeling sorry for myself and apprehensive - I may have to go in for some scans to check for internal injuries and I'm probably a bit scared what they might find. Pain isn't always much fun.

It gets worse

With my current mood of depression about the growing anti-sex approach of the British authorities by trying to criminalise ordinary consenting adults, I somehow missed the events happening at Westgate School until just now. As well as redefining prostitution and sex they seem to just want to drive everything completely underground when only the extreme, the illegal, and the most abusive, coercive and exploitative practices will survive and those just wanting harmless consensual fun will be denied or driven elsewhere. I'm fortunate to have the chance to often visit more liberal parts of the world if I want to explore such behaviour but it's a dreadfully retrograde state of affairs in the UK right now.

It's also depressing that parts of the CP community want to join in the legal bashing of individuals by using the courts to obtain IP addresses of users of a large file sharing website in order to try to track down and bring legal action and public humiliation on individuals who have allegedly downloaded illegal copies of some of their products. That many of the products concerned are being sold at contemporary prices but are of anything but contemporary quality might explain the reluctance of people to pay the originators but one also suspects they don't make it easy for people to pay (no, you can't have my credit card details and provide automatic re billing until I say stop - not sure what I do if you don't...). Until the providers sort out their pricing, distribution, and so on they don't get much sympathy from many.

Depressing

I recently posted about my views on the way the country is going in trying to make sex into a crime. Sadly I don't see any real basis for optimism. I had hoped at one stage that - in a way like it's become increasingly acceptable to be openly gay without every member of the same sex feeling threatened, we might move to a situation where it would be possible to be openly spanko without everyone feeling the need to stick a book down the back of their pants whenever you were around.

If anything we seem to be moving the other way. We're already on the brink of some parts of our "scene" being criminalised. While it don't see any likelihood of immediate danger of being criminalised by viewing material in the Xerotics, Girls Boarding School, Northern Spanking, Firm Hand type of areas, we're perhaps starting to get to a stage where possessing material from Lupus, Spanking Server/Pain4fem, Hard Caning/Caned 4 Cash or Mood might not be viewed so lightly.

It was interesting that when I was posting my previous item about the victimisation of Victoria Thorne I actually clicked the "publish" button, looked out the window, and saw a police patrol car cruising slowly past my house. There was a split second of paranoia. Perhaps - if things continue to decline - that's something we're all going to be facing for real. If at some point I found myself in the papers because of police interest in my predilections, I don't know how I'd cope with the effect on my family - it would probably cost me my job as well.

If I was told tomorrow that looking at some of sites I've just named was now illegal, would I never look at them again? I do have the advantage of a strong imagination - I can get excited about pictures that might seem perfectly innocent to someone else because I can weave a story around what is happening. Takes this one for example...

These three are obviously in for a stern ticking off from the headmistress and maybe more. The one on the right is probably the ringleader and is about to get told to take her hands out of her pockets and stand straight. The one on the left is the one least used to being in trouble - probably just easily lead. She'll be the weak link who'll confess and drop all three of them in it.

And what about this one...A stunning girl who is clearly in big trouble and waiting to go into the head's office who's being kept waiting deliberately so she can think about her behaviour and what the consequences are likely to be.

Yes - I love those sorts of pictures - but I want to live in a country where depiction of consensual acts isn't illegal and I don't get made to feel more and more like a criminal.

How mean spirited has the UK become?

Every so often I read something that sends me off-topic with annoyance and this is one such moment. The UK is supposed to be proud of it's justice system and being a fair-minded society. I think - increasingly - that sucks.

Take the case that's some up in court this week of the former policewoman who advertised herself on a website for escort girls. I'm quite sure that many people disapprove of prostitution and the veneer of the "escort" tag is not really going to convince anyone that she was doing anything other offering sex for sale at £100 an hour. I think people are a bit to quick to judge on such matters - especially when you see figures about how many men use prostitutes. Nevertheless, even I would concede that her part-time job potentially compromised her integrity and could have made it difficult for her to do her full-time job properly and for that error of judgement I could understand that she probably deserved to be sacked by the police force.
However, so far as I have read, nobody is suggesting that she blackmailed anyone into anything by telling them she was a police officer, or that she had actually treated a "client" differently when she came across them as a police officer, nor that she even told her clients that she worked for the police. There is no suggestion that her activities "out of hours" hurt anyone except perhaps herself, and now her family, given the way she has been named and exposed by the press and media.
So why do we need her to be charged with the offence of "Misconduct in a Public Office" (to which she has pleaded guilty)? The charge can lead to a possible sentence of Life Imprisonment! That she has now been remanded in custody while the case takes place against the other defendants involved means that the judge is clearly minded to impose a prison sentence for this "offence". I would have thought that there had to be more of a connection between the "misconduct" and the "public office" (like if she'd attempted to use her police position to obstruct the investigation) but the law doesn't seem to have such a requirement. It's not entirely clear what constitutes a public office but I guess all of us employed in the public sector will have to be careful.
I think she should be freed now and allowed to try to rebuild her life instead of being hounded like this.

It's official - spanking is good for you!

Finally scientists have confirmed what we all suspected...
Spanking is good in a relationship. I happen to hold the view that the couple in the picture have things the wrong way round. If she's shrieking like it appears when she's doling it out, I assume she's going to make quite a bit of noise just now when he turns the tables on her!

Judicial CP of females

There are many spanking sites that proclaim that they don't condone corporal punishment of minors, use of minors for sexual purposes and so on - I wholeheartedly agree with those statements. I have seen some that say they don't condone any non-consensual use of corporal punishment - where it's motivated by sexual stimulation I would agree again but would I oppose any use of corporal punishment in a non-consensual way -perhaps judicial caning for example?
I feel I have to address the issue as a couple of people have emailed me directly about some recent posts I made on here about the use of caning in Malaysia. One objected very strongly to me featuring real young women named - and in one case pictured - who may face a judicial caning for breaching religious based laws, and saying that it was wrong to put forward such cases when some people looking at the site would probably find the stories sexually arousing.
Okay, so here goes. Do I think it's okay for people to find the stories arousing? I can't say that I found them that way, or really thought about them that way. However, much of our play fantasy is based - however loosely - around real punishments, maybe in the past. I'm not sure if any adult spanking website would have the nerve to do a fantasy around a Muslim woman being caned under Sharia law - I suspect the outcry would be greater and potentially more endangering than the outcry we have seen in the past about Nazi style scenes. However, what people may choose to do in the private fantasy enactments could be quite different - many people quest for new ideas for scenarios for play. I wouldn't be averse to such a role play.
The second article makes it very clear that these are not meant to be barbaric or likely to seriously injure, unlike the other sorts of canings carried out in that part of the world. Hence I don't think publishing the articles and the photo of the one young lady already sentenced to be caned is showing anything that is especially violent or nasty - in fact the second article makes the point that such punishments are more to do with humiliating than harming.
Do I think consuming alcohol should warrant such a punishment? Well, if a country decided to make it illegal for everyone then I don't see that as being unreasonable. I don't like the idea that because someone has a particular religion they are treated differently to those of other religions in the same country - religion, to me, is about a choice you make rather than an accident of birth. If the young lady felt that she wanted to be of that faith and that she deserved some punishment for infringing the rules of that faith that would be one thing, but not as an automatic given just because of her parents backgrounds.
One thing this has done for me is to make me wonder what offences I would like to see this sort of "somewhat painful but more humiliating" judicial corporal punishment to be used for. The first one I've come up with is using a handheld mobile phone while driving. It makes the journey through commuter traffic to work that much more interesting to spot young ladies breaking the law that way and speculating that under my new law they could be caned for doing so. And wouldn't that make for an interesting safety advert campaign?

Guard dog

Interesting way to prevent someone taking you by surpise with a smack on the behind...
