Guide to this blog

The Blogroll is now in three parts. The main part is arranged according to the date the blog was last updated with the most recent first. Many blogs use the BDSMLR platform which does not include date information; they are in a separate Blogroll arranged alphabetically but I check from time to time and remove any that have been permanently closed. The final part is a list of interesting Twitter feeds - again in alphabetical order.

It gets worse

With my current mood of depression about the growing anti-sex approach of the British authorities by trying to criminalise ordinary consenting adults, I somehow missed the events happening at Westgate School until just now. As well as redefining prostitution and sex they seem to just want to drive everything completely underground when only the extreme, the illegal, and the most abusive, coercive and exploitative practices will survive and those just wanting harmless consensual fun will be denied or driven elsewhere. I'm fortunate to have the chance to often visit more liberal parts of the world if I want to explore such behaviour but it's a dreadfully retrograde state of affairs in the UK right now.

It's also depressing that parts of the CP community want to join in the legal bashing of individuals by using the courts to obtain IP addresses of users of a large file sharing website in order to try to track down and bring legal action and public humiliation on individuals who have allegedly downloaded illegal copies of some of their products. That many of the products concerned are being sold at contemporary prices but are of anything but contemporary quality might explain the reluctance of people to pay the originators but one also suspects they don't make it easy for people to pay (no, you can't have my credit card details and provide automatic re billing until I say stop - not sure what I do if you don't...). Until the providers sort out their pricing, distribution, and so on they don't get much sympathy from many.
