What faces those girls are making! I wonder how many young ladies try that tactic to try to convince the caner/spanker they are striking their bottoms too hard!.
My wife and I have experienced the same thing from our Daughter,growing up in the '90's when she was caned whilst lying full length on the dining room table with cushions under her hips , panties ofcoure at half mast! she always made sure we could see her face and see her expessions as the cane swished down! She exaggerated the pain ofcourse- we said nothing ,who could blame her -but we ensured she was fairly caned ,and we could ofcouse see the results on her bottom ! Who wouldn't make a face as they were being caned ,spanked or having the strap like my fiance had! My Mum in law often tells me about my the punishments they gave her when she was teenager and in her early 20's! She is now 24 and if she is there she blushes like mad and but does not complain and that makes me wonder!! I have been shown the canes they have and still hang in a cupboard for their yougest girl now just 18!

As an older lady (age 61) & very well-experienced in corporal punishment (mom to two daughters) I am not familiar with the paddle and I am also not familiar with spankings over shorts & panties. Bare buttocks always featured for me, as a spankee & as a strict spanker-mom! Both a long time ago, obviously.
Growing up in a strict, religious family of Christian faith in the early 1960s; the paddle was common in our Atlanta suburb, as was the leather strap/belt, of course. As a child I gotten to see daughters (aka my friends) have their bare bottoms spanked by their parents at home with various implements. This was normal. Oh my!
Although, I myself never gotten spanked in front of my peers, always in private. My mother felt it should be a private punishment, albeit my younger sister & me always watched each other's whoopings (as a constant, scary warning and example!) Oh my!
The paddle or strap did not feature for us, the "botty smacker" from a young age was the cane: a flexible, thin, rattan switch. The cane was an expensive, quality, ultra-flexible item, especially designed & crafted to impart a ferocious, maximum, but harmless sting on unprotected, sensitive-skinned princess botties, by strict, loving long suffering parents. It was not simple a piece of cheap bamboo, James. It was quality and most salutary. Oh my !!
And I naturally in turn, gotten that same trusty, whippy cane for my own daughters (born 1980s)
My sister & me gotten whooped with the cane ("hornets nest" we called it) in the living room with our overalls or shorts unfastened to our knees, (or dresses raised) and our 1950s cotton, white panties pulled down to our knees. Or alternatively, in our bedrooms over the bed with our jammies due South of our fairest, bare buttocks! No exceptions. Our bare botties stung like crazy Hell. And we screamed & squawked a bunch. The neighbours could hear us getting whoopings, already. That was the punishment for the duration of our childhoods, 1960s/70s.
Like mother, like daughter - so with my own girls, (born 1980s) from a tender young age, they gotten that same cane upon their bare backsides, I'm afraid to say, James. Yes, for sure, it sure was darn harsh. But it was harmless. A bare bottom caning is harmless, thank the Lord ! It is supposed to sting. Oh my!
Moreover, the panties down ritual is a scary, powerful chastisement in its own right. Bare skin allows for multiple light flicks of the rod, effective "dancing" strokes, creating a big, nasty sting with ease & safety. I always gotten to think over decades that the paddle over shorts like this photo, is actually less safe or kind than a proper, formal good, sound bare backside whuppin' with a "rod of correction", like a cane or strap !
