If you frequent this blog, you may be surprised by this month's 'favourite' and it is a change from my normal fare.
However, while I mainly enjoy fantasies that are school based, with domestic settings coming second, I'm not totally averse to the odd judicial scene. In the UK, the government didn't abolish the use of judicial corporal punishment until 1948 (even later in Northern Ireland). Of course, it had been restricted to use on males for many years, but in a fantasy version of the UK, one could imagine that a far-sighted government might have decided such sex discrimination was wrong and that girls should be subject to similar penalties to their male counterparts when their behaviour was bad enough.
Until shortly before abolition, the normal practice for a boy to be birched involved them dropping their trousers and underpants and being held across a table or bench (either by straps or by a couple of burly policemen) to have the punishment applied across their bare bottom, so total nudity, as in the scene portrayed here, was not the normal practice. Perhaps it would have been better. It's not very widely known, but during the era when the birch was used for judicial punishment in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, magistrates in Scotland were given the choice of awarding a punishment with either the birch or a traditional Scottish tawse. Perhaps surprisingly, the general consensus was that the tawse was very much the more severe option. While the tawse was most usually applied to the miscreants hands in schools, in the case of judicial punishments it was applied to their bare bottom the same as the birch.
So in the fantasy I'm playing out in my head here, the girl has just been convicted by a court and awarded eight strokes of the tawse across her bottom. Naked. And very, very hard...

When does a spanking become vintage ?
Oh my! Thanks as always, James - I was born late 1950s, which I politely consider vintage :-)
And it sure was the totemic, post-war, golden age of spanking, which we often refer to today. "Why, I will tan your hide, young lady!"
I also think of early Janus as pure vintage, when I discovered those pioneering editions in the mid to late 1970s. And vintage is the operative word for those seminal, silent, Janus films, "Late For School" & "The Riding Lesson" of 1978! Followed by The Gym Lesson & The School Lesson in 1979.
Plus Roue of course in the late 70s, then Blushes (also "vintage") in the early 80s. Perhaps the 1978-1988 decade of British magazines was the true, iconic "spanking vintage" era - although not forgetting my own home-grown American entity of Nu West, which started in California in 1978, with those Super 8mm film, pioneering home "video" cameras.
So 1948 eh ? Oh my! Naughty steps were sadly not in vogue. Why, my mother used to tell me & sister at a young age (in the 1960s, with some temporary forbearance) how she was raised with the cane on her bare bottom in the 1930s & 40s. It was all too scary, if exciting - because she gave sister & me the exact, same God darn chastisement!! Our poor, bare, white botties sure suffered a bunch forthwith!!
I agree with B & Old Tom as usual, and judicial stuff is not really my bag or experience. So by design & default, I will concur with & defer to the great Janus editors in the 1970s, who repeatedly said, that naughty girls should be chastised with "a sensible panties-down caning" at home.
And then secondly, & more recently, to the great Tasha Lee (alias Mrs Cooper) in Strictmoor Academy, Spring Break, Scene 4 (a film produced by the truly super-great Sarah Gregory) who wisely stated that,
"the best lessons are learned over a bare bottom!"

I see this as an illustration from a Blue Moon style book concerning reformatory justice. Perhaps this is Julie or Leslie or Tanya, forced to wait for an hour or more with her legs spread and her bottom raised high as the men enjoy their brandy and cigars, and the most agreeable sight of the little hoyden being forced to offer her naked arse up for reformatory discipline. The men discuss which instrument should be used as Tanya whimpers and clenches her bottom cheeks in anticipation. The strap? The cane? The pony lash? What is she being punished for, you ask? It does not matter. Once a girl has been declared delinquent, and the court order confining her to reformatory has been signed, she can be whipped for any reason, or no reason at all. But one may be certain it will be an exemplary punishment, and the fine gentleman will enjoy her thrashing immensely.
