An Educational Experience

I do love that many museums allow visitors to get a real feel for what life was like in the past.  In this case, two girls visiting Inverary Jail in Scotland are exploring the use of the whipping table and discovering for themselves that the birch hurts.  In an ideal world there would be a muscular curator on hand to explain that birching was traditionally applied across the bare buttocks by a fit and strong male, so he would then be able to provide a more authentic demonstration for the two to experience.
