In this case I imagine the young lady has been taking advantage of her parents being away on a business trip and thinking her grandad will be a pushover. However, he's now caught her coming back in the early morning after overnighting at a party held at her boyfriend's house. Given her manner of dress he's not having much difficulty guessing what she's been up to and threatens to tell her parents. She knows he's not joking and how disastrous that would be. When he offers to keep quiet provided there is no more bad behaviour while they're away she is very relieved and thinks she's got around the old fool. However he's then added there have to be consequences so she'll be punished in the same way he would have punished her mother if she'd every done anything like it. Before she has time to argue her way out of it, her panties are coming down and she realises that she's in for an old fashioned spanking. How humiliating! She just has to hope he won't hit her very hard...

Absolutely correct James - normal loving discipline in traditional homes.
When I gotten God-blessed with my two daughters in the 1980s, I had to work full-time in a large, corporation. I was a career girl & we needed the money. My mother kindly looked after my girls when me and hubby were at work.
My mother said she would raise them exactly like she had raised me and my sister...including sound spankings when needed. This was the Southern USA, religious family style in action !
If my girls told lies or threw tantrums, mother would fetch the thin, rattan cane ("the switch") from the cupboard. She ignored protests and told them to put their hands on their hands
Two pairs of canvas shorts gotten pulled down to knees, followed by two pairs of cotton panties. And two chubby, white, naughty botties gotten a sound whooping (over her knee, or over the sofa). I was more than pleased with this punishment and method James.
My mother's kind but fierce discipline made my life easy as a working mom, and my girls sure gotten well-behaved happy times !
Naturally, they also gotten caned by me already, but Grandparents did not spare the rod.
This was some time ago, naturally - I am now age 60, my girls are in their 30s & mother is in her 80s.
