The Blogroll is now in three parts. The main part is arranged according to the date the blog was last updated with the most recent first. Many blogs use the BDSMLR platform which does not include date information; they are in a separate Blogroll arranged alphabetically but I check from time to time and remove any that have been permanently closed. The final part is a list of interesting Twitter feeds - again in alphabetical order.

Lunchtime at school
Don't these images underline some of the reasons why they should never have abolished the cane in school?

I fail to see why pupils in any form of compulsory schooling should be allowed mobile phones with them. That's how these photos get taken. Kids could leave phones either in special phone lockers or the regular ones. You don't need a cane to stop it just a bit of toughness. Kids texting in lessons, taking photos and videos for no purpose but to stir up trouble. Old Tom
I have to disagree for once. There's no point in blaming camera phones - the tradition of school kids egging each other on to do something they know they shouldn't goes back a long way before everyone was carrying around the digital technology to enable them to take pictures like this. I can recall a "gang" at my school (in quotes because it wasn't nearly as sinister as the word usually implies) - if you wanted to join, the initiation required you to go up to some unsuspecting younger child and punch them in the stomach. Whether the outcome is inappropriate photographs or mild bullying, there is a need to deal with both the perpetrator of the bad act and the ones encouraging it.
I wasn't blaming camera phones James just pointing out that kids will always go just as far as you allow them and then one step beyond. I would be tough about the phones because so much inappropriate behaviour in classrooms stems from them. Teachers deliberately provoked so that kids can video the reaction. Girls sexually assaulted so that a boy's mates can photo her reaction and post it on Snapchat. No, I am not making that up. Why the devil should we allow that behaviour? Keep the phones in the locker for when school finishes and other tougher measures. Not that I have anything against caning them but caning after the event is not as effective as stopping the initial behaviour where it starts. Old tom

Love looking through your Blog, already. Over past years, thank you. Why, James, I do so like that last photo of that misbehaving brat with the grey & red/white panties. Again, my initial instinctive thought (usually my best !) is to imagine her back at home later, her mother fetches the cane from the downstairs cupboard for attitude adjustment.
"Take down your school pants, young lady !" Her mommy is real mad & then is presented with this exact view that we see here.
"Yes ...pull your panties down too !"
(cue the loud protests !!)
Harsh but fair. Sure focuses the mind James ! And that was just the normal spanking routine in our house for my two young daughters, growing up: cane to bare botty. No fuss or compromise. Formal, traumatic but also loving & salutary. My girls gotten it from a young age with no half-measures. That was the punishment: a well smacked bottom.
As a strict, loving, conservative mother (I'm now age 60), I did not think much about it. I just tanned their bare backsides with the "switch" (cane) in a loving but firm & fair fashion when their behaviour required it. That was my Faith & family values/beliefs in action. We were nearly all spanker moms in our suburban Church community, James - driven by our Faith & practical, sensible ideas for home discipline !! There was no PC in the 1980s/90s, Thank the Lord.
My lil' sister (now late 50s ha-ha) & me gotten the exact same knickers-down "switchings" (with that ultra-thin, flexible, rattan cane) from our own God-fearing mommy at home in Atlanta in the 1960s. We screamed like Hell & we called it the "hornets nest" landing on our bare, young, sensitive-skinned, porcelain-white botties. Absolutely right too. Our mom sure gotten two well-behaved, goody-goody daughters for some time after a spanking. Oh my !
James, this last photo of the naughty lil' princess brat showing her underwear, also reminds me of a typical Texas item, relating to the Destiny Child (of Beyonce fame) singer, Michelle Williams. As a child, Williams gotten caught mooning a neighbour, so her mom took her inside & said "moon me now". She gotten a good Ol' Texas bare botty whuppin' ! And such bare bottom parental chastisements are still just a normal fact of life for us girls growing up in the South, already, James. As my daughters (Ok, now in their 30s) would verify.
