Guide to this blog

The Blogroll is now in three parts. The main part is arranged according to the date the blog was last updated with the most recent first. Many blogs use the BDSMLR platform which does not include date information; they are in a separate Blogroll arranged alphabetically but I check from time to time and remove any that have been permanently closed. The final part is a list of interesting Twitter feeds - again in alphabetical order.

Scotland says NO

So the referendum on Scotland seeking independence from the UK is decisively over with the Scottish electorate deciding against independence.  Now the rest of the UK is musing on why they allocate £1600 more spending for every head of population in Scotland than elsewhere in the UK.  What has Scotland ever given us?

Well, aside from haggis (no, thank you very much!), porridge, bagpipes and a rather dubious aquatic monster that may or more likely does not inhabit a certain loch, (none of which, it seems to me, worth us spending any money to encourage or preserve) we have to look a bit further.

There are, I suggest, three good answers.
Firstly Scotch whisky is unquestionably a great contribution to the world.
Secondly, there is the tartan kilt - although it is rather more pleasing to the eye when shown like this rather than on some hairy ginger Scotsman.
Finally, perhaps the greatest contribution of all is the Lochgelly tawse - makes the package worth every penny!

I believe that the reason Scotland rejected to leave the United Kingdom, is because of the TAWSE. That beautiful corporal punishment implement that has warmed many a naughty Scottish lass on her bare bottom, these many years.

Each photograph chosen warms in different ways...we must all choose which we prefer.

I wonder if the young lady in the third picture went on to feel the bite of the tawse on her bare bottom.

Maybe when she got home Targetarear. Perhaps her father believes in 'punished at school punished at home'

Lochgelly Tawse - best on the bare skin of daughters' hands or the bare skin of daughters' bottoms ?

Very funny James & we gotten our own American whiskey too, as you know. And chiefly from the Scottish immigrants originally, I think! Southern bourbons aplenty of course, & the specific Tennessee Whiskey, like Jack Daniel's. Oh my!

The trusty leather strap (or belt) was applied to naughty daughters' bare backsides in strict, traditional Southern households when I was a child in the 1960s. The paddle & the switch were also common. In fact the same is true today, Thank the Lord, albeit at a lower rate of parental support.

My wonderful lil' sister (now nearly age 60 ha-ha) & myself gotten raised, not with the strap, but with the cane. That is because our mother gotten the cane (bare bum, naturally) throughout her own childhood 1930s/40s. Our cane was a very thin, quality, rattan switch (real nasty!!) which was whooped across the sensitive, bare, skin of our botties by our mother, who was a strict Christian & who never spared the rod if we girls gotten naughty. Punishment was very harsh James, but it was completely normal. Wishy-washy woke, snowflake attitudes to discipline were many light years away

Sister & me had very few freedoms but we were always such happy girls (definitely Goody Two-shoes) in our sunny Atlanta suburban community: Church, Cheerleading & Chastisements were the foundation of our conservative, religious, traditional upbringing. Bare, schoolgirl, alabaster-white buttocks turning scarlet-sore under the cane was common in our family, our neighbours sure heard the stick smacking our bare skin...just as the strap was common in our girlfriends' houses in the neighbourhood.

Mother was dead against CP on our hands. We never gotten it. Nor on our legs. Just our bottoms were spanked. She said it was dangerous & not kind to whoop hands. Amazingly she said that punishment on our bare bottoms was certainly kind! It was simply necessary correction in front of God, as decreed by Biblical scriptures. Spankings in Christian houses were standard routine, James. I agreed with my mother, but found her philosophy fascinating.

Relating my own childhood to raising my own two daughters with firm discipline, the sensitive skin on two chubby, well-padded backsides provides an ideal place for loving, Spartan, Ol' fashioned mommy-approved chastisement AKA good parenting, James!! I used the same flexible, thin, rattan cane on my on two daughters at a young age, and I always pulled their knickers down to spank on a bare target. Countless light flicks equivalent to good baker's dozen sting like crazy hell - that is the idea of a spanking. "It's punishment Brenda" as mom said to me as she dropped the "hornets nest" on my pudgy, bare, white botty, at an early age in the early 1960s after I told lies. Oh my!

And a bare bottom allows for total safety and also humbling - mommy is real mad with you and you will learn your lesson. The baring routine was always "traumatic" for my girls and for me back also, in the 1960s...again, that is the idea. Panties down is a salutary punishment in its own right. My message was clear for my two naughty eight, nine, ten or whatever year-old princesses: "you misbehave, then you feel that nasty cane whipping your bare botty in the living room with your panties hugging your knees!!!"

Maximum sting, maximum safety & moderate humbling. The tawse & cane are ideal for bare princess bottoms James, but not suitable for kind, caring hands. My own girls are very pro-spanking & thank me for my strict maternal methods. As a typical Southern family we still discuss these things as part of normal family life.
Thank you & regards,
Brenda xx
