In my opinion too many spanko sites just want to get to the spanking sequences straight away and don't pay enough attention to a realistic build-up - the reason for the punishment, the telling off and so on. A great example of doing this right was the two naughty schoolgirls in the Red Stripe movie, "Demoted to the Fourth". In the first scene the headmistress, Miss Hayworth, gives the two a thorough telling off and carries out an impromptu underwear inspection.
Unsurprisingly, as is the way these days, both girls have very skimpy white knickers under their black tights so Emily and Annabel find themselves demoted to a younger class at the school.
It's a nice extra touch before the punishment really begins (although I must confess that I have a personal preference for the appearance of the the first uniform and the opportunity it offered to demonstrate the disadvantages of their inadequate underwear).

I too prefer the first set of uniforms... however those white pull up socks are a nice touch too!
I knew a woman back in the 1980s who really had been at boarding school where knicker inspections were carried out daily by the deputy head. She never did tell me what the punishment was if a girl failed the inspection.

I gotten to understand the concept of "sensible panties" quite early on. I strictly defined them as panties that accentuated my naughty behaviour & gotten pulled down when my God-fearing mom wanted to smack my bare bottom with the cane! I also viewed them as conservative, Church-compliant or even Christian-compliant Spartan panties, which was normal & akin to the strict South in the 1960s. Oh my!
I fondly recall them as my sensible, Ol' fashioned, traditional, 1950s-style, full-sized, dazzling, white, soft, cotton, snuggy panties, so to speak! And I simply cannot contemplate a description of panties without a recognition of corporal punishment being simultaneous.
Hand in glove or like, botty in panties, if you will, James!
