Some phrases that get used in the CP world rather irritate me - for example when someone is described as having a "naughty bottom" (I rather doubt that the bottom is what has been naughty although it may well be the appropriate target for someone to deal with the naughty behaviour).
However, this one I really like and I've never come across it before.
I have little doubt that Frances and Mary fully deserve (at least) two 'licks' apiece but I really like the expression of them being 'nicely placed' - presumably that being squarely across the seat of their panties.
I came across the image completely out of context - if anyone can shed any light on the origin and the backstory I would be very grateful.

"Two nicely placed licks" for lil' sister and myself, from our father back in the day, meant we gotten whipped across our bare bottoms in our childhoods in the privacy of our home in the suburbs (Atlanta Georgia)...and it sure was more than two licks of the cane, James. Oh my !
The "botty smacker" stick was the traditional, flexible, thin, Southern rattan switch which was popular in our Church-community homes in the early 1960s. The leather strap was also a Southern "thang" for punishment, but we only gotten the cane in our house. A proper "rod of correction".
I love this photo - two Southern belles for sure. Sister and me ha-ha. I have no idea of its origins. Our mother (now in her 80s) was the main spanker and she was so fierce and religious but also kind. She believed a bare botty whooping with the cane was normal and harmless and just a necessary fact of life for her daughters. Oh my ! CP was just normal for us back then. There was no need for time-outs. Oh my !
She was correct, but the harsh but fair punishment and lack of sensitivities were a contrast to the modern day PC, James. No snowflakes in the 1960s already !!
Sister and me gotten to call mom's dreaded spanky-stick, "the hornets nest" because it stung like Hell, mainly because we always gotten it, dresses up and panties pulled down to knees, on our bare buttocks (never over clothes) in the normal, strict, "Christian- style", or "Southern-style". Quite right too. It was supposed to sting and my own two daughters (now in their 30s) gotten whooped the same way growing up in the 1990s - the whippy, lil' cane lived in the cupboard for a good bare bum switching when they needed it, James. Spanking with love as we referred to it in the traditional South. !
There was no PC or wishy-washy nonsense in my childhood James. The Church advocated CP on bare backsides. The saying, "spare the rod spoil the child" was constantly used. Sure licked me and my sister into shape !
