This is what I'd like to see much more of - perfect evidence that it would be quite possible to require a schoolgirl in a short skirt, as is the fashion, to bend over for a caning on her bottom without the need to expose her undergarments. And I'd like to bet that six hard strokes applied like this would give the wayward miss a very salutary lesson that she wouldn't be in a hurry to repeat anytime soon. Sadly, I have no idea of the source - I would love to see more and better still a video. I think this is one of my all-time favourites.

Perfect. Poor girl she is about to discover what I did at a very early age: the cane hurts... avoid it like the plague.
Her tights might enable her to wear a shorter school skirt and display her attractive legs, but they won't provide much protection!
Good point npwnyc, but then again her skirt will absorb some of the impact of the can as it lands. It needs to be lifted out of the way, not just to make the caning more effective but also to let us see her behind in all its glory.

Excellent post as always...food for thought. Great view of the cane and her "seat of learning" (unsuitably clothed !)....sure brings back memories, James.
In Southern schools, spankings are of course given over clothes (if at all) which goes without saying but in privacy of homes it is a different situation already. Spanking is embedded in Southern culture ( I am age 60, raised in Georgia and witnessed a lot of CP as a child and a mother)
and it is integrated into family values and social mores...often with an overlay of Christian CP and the notion of "spare the rod spoil the child".
I strongly adhere to this conservative, traditional non-PC spanking creed and so when I gotten to discipline my two young daughters (now in their 30s) a long time ago 1980s/90s, I used a very strict, loving but effective approach. I did not use the typical, popular Southern strap, I used a rattan cane, or switch as we used to say: a very thin, flexible "rod of correction" kept in the cupboard. I was never afraid to use it. My hubby did not choose spank my girls. So I was very strict to compensate as a family.
And so I am afraid that as that strict mother, I believed in "proper spankings" and so looking at this photo of a naughty girl bending over, when my lil' daughters deserved a smacked bottom, like for telling lies, (it was usually a formal event in the living room) I always flipped up my girls' dresses or skirts and pulled down their underwear so to spank effectively and harmlessly on sensitive, bare skin. It sure worked - harsh but fair. Oh my ! And so throughout their childhoods, I only ever applied the cane to their bare buttocks. That was my rule. That was the punishment. Period.
For sure, the cane stung like crazy on a bare botty - that is the idea already. Do the crime, they do the time !!
They screamed & squawked but those whoopings were just normal, loving, stern maternal chastisement that they needed. Naughty steps & time-outs were not part of my disciplinary beliefs ( I argued with some PC moms, thankfully there were very few PC moms around). Having your bum bared for a parental tanning was a rite of passage for naughty daughters in traditional Georgia, James.
A simple fact, but with complex social, religious and historical contexts underpinning it.
And my girls always knew that I only ever gotten whipped on my bare botty by my own mother back in the 1960s (with a similar rattan "switch"/spanky-stick) with my mom always pulling down my panties and baring my tender rear-end in private, in the sitting room, exactly as I deserved. A naughty daughter gotten stern measures - absolutely right too, James..
