In response to the budget cuts being imposed on TV in the UK, producers of three popular daytime TV shows are going to trial a merger - Flog It!, Escape To The Country, and Cash In The Attic will join together in the new format which will be known as Escape A Flogging In The Attic. In addition to followers of the three existing shows it is hoped to find a whole new audience. Contestants are currently being chosen.

What an excellent idea for a show. Is it possible to audition for the part of one of the disciplinarians?

Was the programme called Just Good Parenting ?! I think we would just about get away with that in Atlanta, Georgia, right now. Oh my! maybe not. Times have changed, slightly. But not too much Thank the Lord. Maybe I am too strict n Ol' fashioned at age 61, already. CP good. PC bad eh james?!
Why yes, I remember it well (as both a daughter & a strict mother) her furious mom is gonna go through the essential scolding routine of hands on head, knickers down, skirt hoisted. And then to take the skin of her white botty with the tawse. Absolutely correct too! That is how my friends & me gotten raised in the 1960s/70s. And us girls in our "princess gang" (from church, school & cheerleading) would share notes. Oh my! Our mothers shared experiences too, constantly talkin' about spanking their daughters' bare behinds at coffee mornings or the school gate, or in the park.
I was compelled to listen to those lovely strict, kind, God-fearing mommies from an earliest age. I guess we all were, spankings were just a fact of life & part of family life & suburban culture n community.
I thought nothing of it James, albeit we all found it exciting & normal. Spankings in comics, books & on TV were just considered natural. Although unlike in comics, I always gotten the cane (from mother) on the bare skin of my bottom. That was the rule.
Whoopings were in the living room. My 1950s, canary yellow dress raised. My 1950s, white, cotton, Carter's panties put down to my knees. So it would sting like crazy Hell on my sensitive bare botty & I would feel the punishment properly! I sure did. Oh my! It was unbearable. That was the harsh Christian method of punishment. It was normal. I gotten introduced to the terrible cane while just age 7, before that it was the wooden spoon or hairbrush on a bare bum (over the knee).
It sure worked for me & my sister & so I kept that same flexible, quality, rattan cane for my own two daughters (1980s born) which they gotten from a young age. Yes, I was fair but very strict & I always bared their bottoms - panties down in the living room, or jammies down in the bedroom- it's the only way it should be done in my opinion. Stings like crazy but a baker's dozen on the bare botty is safe, harmless & very effective corporal punishment. And moreover, exactly as I gotten as a naughty child. My girls (now age mid-30s) are very pro-spanking, which is still a majority opinion and acceptance in the South. Great action, traditional drawing, thanks, James
