I ran a series recently called one-hit wonders featuring girls who featured in one issue of Janus magazine, were pretty good, but then never seemed to appear again. I did have hopes of some corrections being able to point me to some other examples of these girls modelling in spanking shoots elsewhere but nothing so far.
Perhaps they were just hard-up students needing some quick money and thinking this was a better option than prostitution, or perhaps they were just too embarrassed when they saw the end result and imagined who might stumble across a copy of the magazine. We'll probably never know.
Of course these days it's very different, we see the same girls appearing on either one website or on a variety of websites, usually sticking to using one name, and sometimes, apparently, giving us an insight into their personal life and their interest in CP and spanking. It's quite obvious that while there may still be a few fakes around, there's enough girls who actually enjoy this enough to be videoed while they're punished, that there's little reason for using fakes.

There's one other model who fascinates me, not just because she looks superb and happens to have already featured in one of my monthly favourites. She was a regular star in the great Roué magazine yet we never really go to know anything about her. In many of the photo stories she was in there was no text provided and hence no name. Who was she? What was her story?
I even remember seeing one photo in a newspaper illustrating the obituary of George Harrison-Marks - I think he might have been leaving a court in the photograph - and I am sure the girl just behind him was the mystery model. Come on folks - what can anyone tell us all to fill in the gaps?

Wouldn't it be hilarious if she was now Lady Somebodyorother and a seta in the House of Lords. I remember her now I se those photos but sorry not a clue as to who she was.

Judging by the antics of some of our politicians Old Tom, that is perfectly possible. She certainly has (or at least had) a very good seat, judging by those photos. Number 4 is especially delightful.
She also appeared in a video called "Uncle George ....."
As I recall she was spanked and caned in that vid.

Okay - all doubts cast aside, it is the same girl in the Uncle George video. She has a rather different hairstyle which is confusing but I'm 100% convinced that it's her. It's not the best video ever, obviously lacks contemporary production standards and rather lacks a storyline as well. However, it is interesting because she clearly takes some quite hard whacks, especially with a cane towards the end of the video. Coming from an era when most of the still photo work we saw was clearly faked, there is some evidence here that she may well have been the genuine article who actually enjoyed the scene.
Roue and Janus both discovered some fantastic models and to their credit many of the young ladies accepted some very authentic spankings and canings. This young lady was on the receiving end many, many times.
What interested me was that most of the Roue ladies simply appeared whereas Janus often profiled/interviewed their best models and had a sort of unofficial 'star' system in place.
Paula Meadows, Sophie Fennington, Nicola Redway and a young Rosaleen Young (aka Christina Winchester) all became part of the fabric of the magazine and did non fantasy photo-shoots etc. Lucy Bailey was another.
Two very different approaches perhaps dictated by both budget and overall resources I can only suppose?
The number of ladies who modelled for both titles was surprisingly low for a small, niche market as far as I can recall. Gilly Norton was certainly one and was superb. There was also a lovely, long-legged model who appeared in Janus 19/29 known as Polly who also appeared in Roue's Afternoon Detention.
Wonderful series here, James - as always. I defer to your vastly superior knowledge in these "magazine and media" matters, but I have a enough factual spanking experiences of my own, as mother and initially as a 1959-born "Christian" girl. It is ironic or perhaps just plain factual that CP in UK & Europe became a "fantasy" (or less discussed) whereas in Georgia State USA (and most) it was routinely played out in our family living rooms for real. It is very visceral for me, and your clever, nuanced posts are so powerful...to my mind already.
These photos take me back to back to my own childhood punishments (1960s) and also to raising my two young daughters with corporal punishment - especially cute photo 4, with that bare white botty awaiting a mother's chastisement, with her blue and white cotton knickers (pulled down, appropriately) and her smart cotton socks. That is how it gotten done on the sofa back in the day !
With my two girls I followed a similar, strict discipline regime to what I gotten as a child. And my own mother was often present to oversee or even administer whoopings (when I was at work and she was caring for them) My hubby did not spank our daughters, so I respected that & raised them with my strict, loving, traditionally conservative methods...typically Southern. Spanking was the foundation of family life in our house and in our wider Church community in the 1980s/90s.
The essential & much-feared "botty smacker" was a whippy-thin, rattan cane (aka the switch, aka the "hornets nest") which I administered to my daughters in the living room by the sofa (or at bedtime with their jammies pulled down in their rooms).
I gotten spanked with the same cane from my mother. I always raised their dresses & automatically pulled down their panties to their knees to ensure they felt the punishment properly on bare skin. No half-measures. For I did not tolerate wishy-washy discipline. My whoopings were harmless but sure sting like crazy hell on a bare botty. That is the idea and also complied with the tradition of our Christian upbringings - "spare the rod, spoil the child". It all worked swell over the years James, my girls are pro-spanking and now aged early 30s.
I also firmly believed that the baring ritual itself, provided some essential "traumatic", sober moments of humbling and realisation of the consequences of their behaviour. And the ferocious but harmless sting of "the rod of correction" on their sensitive, bare, lily white botties sure taught them right from wrong - spanking with love", was a popular, Southern "thang" in our suburb/community culture, James. And I sure discussed it a bunch with other moms over the years. CP not PC rules in Georgia, already !
At age 60, I now so love your Blog, but only recently discovered it. These type of photos here mesmerised me back in the 1970s (as a student) and then the early 1980s, as a career girl working in a large company. And then also later in the 1980s/90s as a strict, caring mother raising my young girls with spanking (with my trusty lil' cane kept in the cupboard) as the only punishment in their childhoods. This was all pre-internet obviously and so rings true more powerfully today.
