Guide to this blog

The Blogroll is now in three parts. The main part is arranged according to the date the blog was last updated with the most recent first. Many blogs use the BDSMLR platform which does not include date information; they are in a separate Blogroll arranged alphabetically but I check from time to time and remove any that have been permanently closed. The final part is a list of interesting Twitter feeds - again in alphabetical order.

Favourite for December

December is a great time for warming chilly bottoms!

And isn't "the slipper" a great way to go about it.  It's odd that in relation to it's use in corporal punishment, especially at school, it seems to have always been referred to as "the slipper" as in "getting the slipper" or "getting a slippering", when in fact the implement used was almost invariably a plimsoll / gym shoe / sand shoe or whatever it was called in your locality.  I absolutely love it as a punishment tool for so many reasons.
For one thing, and perhaps an obvious one, is that when properly applied it hurts like hell.  It always sounds - perhaps especially because of the "slipper" connotation - as if it will be very mild compared to the cane but the reality can be extremely painful.  I once saw a boy aged about twelve or thirteen who had already been caned by the deputy headmaster once in the privacy of his office (and went on to merit about three further canings before he was expelled) who was given two very hard strokes with a plimsoll over the seat of his trousers bending over in front of the class who immediately burst into tears, thus losing a lot of "cred" with everyone else.

Because it was perceived as less severe than the cane (and it was, but just not as big a difference as people perhaps imagined) a number of schools that used to cane boys across their backsides would apply the slipper to girls - as the fashion for short skirts prevailed they would often have had less protection and may not have been getting off half as lightly as people thought.  It also makes a very loud noise which is quite intimidating in itself - especially if you were waiting your turn to get a similar treatment.  The instrument itself would not appear quite so blatantly to be a punishment tool - it would be perfectly normal to have such items lying around in the classroom or in the school generally without everyone immediately assuming that they were there to punish youthful miscreants.    It also has the big advantage over the cane that if you're actually feeling really annoyed with the person to be punished, you can let rip and hit them just about as hard as you possibly could without any real risk of causing long term injury beyond a few days of bruising.

That seems to be pretty well what is going on here - the teacher is venting all of her frustration through the plimsoll on the young lady's panty-clad bottom and the loud cracks as it lands time after time will be echoing around the largely empty gym hall.  You have to suspect that she will be very careful about not swearing in school in the future as she wriggles uncomfortably on hard wooden seats in the remaining classes that day.

Oh yes the good old slipper (plimsoll, pump, DAP whatever)I've had that many times and you are right applied to the bottom with much force it causes a huge sting which does no real injury. Ah the good old days of instant justice..."Talking boy, come here." My daughter in law tells me she was often walloped with the slipper too and exactly as you say the short skirts meant it was frequently on her knickers. No, stay your wicked thoughts...she was at an all girls' school and it was the women teachers that used it. Clearly the headmistress was a woman of good sense.

Yes, I was on the wrong end of a slipper so many times at school I eventually lost count. And it did sting! One teacher used to chalk a reversed letter 'S' on the sole of hi slipper before applying it with a will to our backsides, so that we spent the rest of the day wandering around with an 'S' on the seats of our trousers. (For that reason, his slippere earned the nickname 'Suzie').

These days, I'm mainly on the other end, applying a slipper to some very shapely and pert female behinds. Bliss!

Well Targetarear if ever you heavy duties wielding a slipper become too much for you don't forget to call on me. I am always ready to lend a helping hand.

Hi boys!

That is a great pic. That poor young lady bent over the table is pretty adorable.

No one really uses the slipper in the US. The first time I remember seeing it was in Pink Floyd's The Wall. I was in high school so my days with the paddle were long over but I admit I was fascinated with the slippering he was made to endure. The poor little lad was getting it from his father because the mean mom told the dad to do it.

I do love when it gets chilly and the best way to get warm is with a "bottom warming". Not that I would ever be naughty enough to deserve that kind of treatment.

If I ever get to make a trip over the pond maybe one of you kind gentlemen would show me what that slipper business is all about. *wink*

Well Keri if old Tom isn't available when you visit these shores, I'd be quite happy to deputise and introduce your bottom to the sole of a gym slipper.

Well Targetarear, you sound a little enthusiastic about that. I should probably be worried hehe

It's such a good thing that I'm an angel and never, ever naughty.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Unfortunately there tends to be a lot of spanking going on during the holidays with stressed out moms and girlfriends trying to get everything done. At least that's what happens in my house. ☺️

I look forward to getting to know you boys better in 2015. I'll try to behave. Just test your limits a very tiny bit.

Keri - I suggest you take care with testing people's limits. Work may just mean I need to pay a visit to the US later this year...

The classic British plimsoll - for naughty daughters' bare botties in the UK in yore.

James, I was wholesomely reassured to learn as a student in Georgia USA, in the late 1970s (including via Janus & Roue) that the lovely, iconic, standard, cheap n nasty, black or white British plimsoll would be soundly smacking the bare bottoms of naughty daughters at home as part of normal, good parenting in the 1950s & beyond. Naughty steps were light years' away. And the plimsoll was and is a fantastic, hard & resounding botty smacker, as you suggest. And when the hard, bendy, plimsoll is firmly applied to a tender, bare backside, will provide salutary just desserts to naughty girls in a traditional, strict domestic environment (like I grew up in as a 1950s born child). Sadly in America, we gotten the ubiquitous paddle, which is less effective than the plimsoll!

Oh my! But there was no actual paddle for myself growing up at home with my staunchly Christian mother. I gotten frequently punished with the cane on my bare buttocks as a child & teenager (1960s/70s) It was just normal, James. And I then raised my own two daughters exactly the same with the cane (80s/90s) The cane on their poor bare bottoms (& indeed my own!) was extremely effective & harmless & our Church community was a effectively a lil' "enclave of the cane" because my mother recommended it to the other Christian moms in our church in suburban Atlanta. But generally, I would say that the Southern strap or belt was definitely the main implement in Georgia, the South & indeed America as a whole.

Oh my! I was also aware & intrigued James, that African & Asian families also used the cane - something that I discussed with my girlfriends (especially at University) and even my work network & colleagues (discretely where possible). Punishment for daughters in loving home was usually upon bare buttocks back in the 1960s/70s...as indeed it was in British homes in those more Spartan times (including with the plimsoll, "slipper", naturally course). No wishy-washy nonsense in yore, thank the Lord, as my daughters ruefully remember, of course.

I was absolutely fascinated with facts & details of CP at home. Corporal punishment in strict, loving homes has always been just a normal, necessary fact of life in my experience, despite the small, minority of PC folks desperate to convince y'all otherwise! I just stick to the facts already, James - something I like to write down in my memoirs.
Thanks a bunch, as always.
