Guide to this blog

The Blogroll is now in three parts. The main part is arranged according to the date the blog was last updated with the most recent first. Many blogs use the BDSMLR platform which does not include date information; they are in a separate Blogroll arranged alphabetically but I check from time to time and remove any that have been permanently closed. The final part is a list of interesting Twitter feeds - again in alphabetical order.

September favourite

This is the same girl who featured in my first monthly favourite, this time showing the sort of behaviour that just might have earned punishment for a naughty schoolgirl...

We had a complaint from 'Nosy' our neighbour, about our daughter doing some hand-stands with a friend ,in front of two boys in the house behind us! Well my angry reaction to him was so what! Wearing those passion killers what was the harm! My wife thought otherwise -'she is 18 now' she shouted and she was not wearing them but a pair of short, thin nylon ones! Well the out come was clear.Later she went for a'chat' with my wife in our bedroom!I listened from outside and heard the teling off and pleas from 'S'. But to no avail and I heard the rattle as my wife searched in the wardrobe and took out the cane! The order take them down was followed by pleas and sobs which soon turned to crying as the cane was applied 10 times to her bare bottom .A while later 'S' emerged nursing her bottom and still sniffling ! The paradox of the conservative South - panties, bare bottoms & spankings in public.

A wonderful photo which brings nostalgia & thought in such happy, if strict times!
As a girl born 1950s, raised 1960s, I was not alone in my interest in dresses, knickers & smacked bottoms. It was a rite of passage for y'all. Corporal punishment was fully integrated into life, society, culture and had rich complexities for wider contexts. Oh my!

For sure y'all did handstands ha-ha (like the girl here) so our dresses fell down & revealed our 1950s Carter's Spanky Panties! Even the name of the brand normalised corporal punishment. James, I always like things that normalise corporal punishment, because spankings are normal!! The wokerati conspire against us, but bare red bottoms are still prevalent in the South!

As a child I was struck by the paradox of conservative family values & society: why, yes, naughty girls would have their dresses hoisted & their 1950s knickers pulled down in public (by angry moms usually) & their squishy-white botties smacked red-sore for bad behaviour. Likewise we girls would show our knickers without a thought whether at cheerleading, in the park or garden parties. Oh my! And yet everything else was so strict & sober. Even the cartoons in the late 1950s had stopped showing bare backsides being spanked, unlike the earlier 1930s/40s cartoons, where bare bums were shown or certainly implied. I used to talk to my mom about these paradoxes & contradictions as a lil' girl in the 60s & 70s. Why, yes, it was only natural to talk about my own spankings with my mother: a very Christian trait, already.

I always associated our 1950s, traditional, full-sized, cotton, white panties (mom gotten a job lot from the store) with spankings, unsurprisingly. I guess, mainly because they were always pulled down for a whuppin'. Oh my! Likewise, when I saw my friends' panties in the normal course of events (sports changing/swimming pools) images of spanked bottoms were never far away. Spanking was integral.

At a young age, I would see my sister's bare bottom on two accounts: firstly, bath times (very frequently) and secondly for her spankings (less frequently...but still frequently!) I was fascinated when mom or pop pulled down her shorts & panties & secured her chubby, bare botty OTK for the wooden spoon. The opaline, unblemished, porcelain-white skin turned scarlet as the swarm of bees descended, & my sister screamed like Hell. But it was all harmless & part of parental love & discipline. It was called a spanking. And it was necessary & normal! The terrible, flexible, rattan cane was then introduced (I was age 7) by mom and meant a more formal scary ritual to "spankings" in the living room - of scolding, hands on heads, knickers pulled down to knees, whooping of bare buttocks (12 strokes), knickers pulled back up again, & gotten sent to our rooms routine.

Sister & I never gotten spanked outside of our house or in public. Oh my! This was real surprising given our mom's very strict persona. If we were naughty on a day trip to the park, or outing, then the flexible cane (from age 7) would for sure meet our bare botties on returning home. That was the punishment. This meant an uncomfortable wait & intrepid journey home from the park or beach for our fate! But of course, we did witness a whole bunch of our friends' outdoor spankings, which again seemed incongruous given the conservative, pious nature of society.
Thanks as always James - a few coherent & incoherent nostalgic thoughts from me ha-ha!
