The girl's continuing intransigence ends up with her bent over for a taste of that ruler on her bare bottom, but that, as they say, is for another month...

Favourite for May
Those who've followed my series of favourites probably won't be surprised by this inclusion.

I like to see hand caning and strapping! This is another handy (Oops!)implement to instill some discipline in the classroom and as shown here, taking an older school girl 'in hand'! Her expression and and as you say the indifference to the pain caused, on the teachers face is a treat!But then if you are able to do it in your class as often as you felt necessary ,I suppose you would feel that way!
My wife says she will not forget or forgive her ,Mum for giving her the ruler at home if she made a fuss or kept getting up when her Mum was caning her for breaking one of her Rules!The caning was bad enough -given on the bare bottom even when she was 19! She said the ruler was worse as her Mum also held her hand out as she often pulled it back! KH

Oh my! Our Christian Church in Atlanta in the 1960s, stipulated that whoopings should be on our bare backsides, James, not our hands (nor our clothed backsides, either!!)
Oh my! Sister & me & our poor fairy-soft, squishy-white botties which gotten bared a lot in the living room for a dose of mother's terrible, whippy, rattan cane. It was just good, normal parenting & simply harmless punishment, if very uncomfortable for a while!!
As a loving but strict Southern spanker-mom in the 1980s, when I also saw my young recalcitrant daughters' bare, porcelain white bottoms, bending over the sofa, awaiting my cane, I was aware of the dangers, James. The dangers of caning their bare backsides. The danger that lessons would be learned. The danger that they would learn responsibility for their actions. The danger that they would be accountable & show consideration for others. The danger that they would be good citizens. The danger that they would be good lil' angels & not make mommy cross!! (for a while at least) And the "danger" proved correct.
Lessons are best learned over a bare botty....the strap is common in the American South. But for myself & then my daughters, the cane served our tender, bare seats of learning, so very well! It is normal.
"Spare the rod spoil the child" did not mentioned whooping hands. I thought nothing about spanking hands. From an early age, mom would throw our bare botties over her knee for the wooden spoon, dresses & panties suitably adjusted. And then we graduated to the much feared flexible cane. As a child, I always knew that our sensitive-skinned chubby bare botties provided a safe place for proper punishment in front of God, with the rod. (the cane). Other households gotten to use the strap, or maybe he paddle.
And so again, when I was God blessed as a mother with two girls 1980s, it was as normal as light follows day that the same, sensitive skin on their chubby bare seats wold feel the cane (and the rubber spatula in the early years) Bare tender-skinned, well-padded buttocks provide safe, orthodox surface for loving, Spartan punishment. The skin on our botties is so much more tender than on y'all hands (ideal for a big sting!!). And the padded buttocks allow for a good, harmless whooping. Panties must always come down for the cane or plimsoll, whatever. The whooping is very effective & very safe on bare skin. All my spankings received as a girl & administered as a mother were on bare buttocks. No half-measures. Humbling, harmless & effective. Every darn one!!!
Growing up, I witnessed a lot of bare bottom spankings in the parks of Atlanta. When mothers would hoist their daughters' dresses (my bestie friends) pull down their cotton panties & smack their lily white botty cheeks to a shade of Georgia sundowner! This was just normal life in 1960s Georgia. I do not approve of whooping hands, James. I think it dangerous & unkind. But smacking naughty, bare, pudgy bottoms with a flexible, thin, cane is harmless. I speak from strict experience as a mom. And my rueful, grown-up daughters entirely agree with me now, with hindsight in their late 30s!! I have had a lot of conversations with moms on this topic. Non woke spanker-moms, obviously!!!!
My God-fearing mother used to say that hands are for loving, the cane ("Rod") is for punishing and our bare bottoms are for spanking with the cane!!
