Wonderful nostalgia here James - makes my botty sting just to see this, already. Love the sense of anticipation, drama & some necessary trauma as just desserts gotten delivered on bare bottoms. I first discovered Janus magazines in the 1970s, as a student in my home-city of Atlanta. I was mesmerised & stunned to see my normal childhood spanking experiences brought to life in glossy mags (from UK & later, Nu West.)
I gotten raised in a strict, 1950s, conservative, Christian family (born 1959) where corporal punishment was normal & routine. I found the Janus parent/daughter scenarios realistic & even the Schoolgirl scenes translated well into my childhood mindset - especially bare bottom canings, which I gotten from mom. "Spare the rod spoil the child" was something I heard spoken every week, at Bible Class, sports, School, Church or moms' coffee mornings, already. Oh my !
I like spanking facts not fantasy, James. First of all, CP was given over clothes in our Georgia Schools, same as in UK/Europe. So I cannot abide accounts of bare bottom spankings in front of Class - that was early fake news reported in days of yore.
Second, sister & me did not receive CP at school. But we sure gotten sound spankings at home from mom which was a rite of passage for girls in our neighbourhood Church group. Bare botty too for y'all !
Oh my ! From a young age, sister & me gotten to fear & feel the terrible, whippy, lil' rattan switch-cane across our whiter-than-white, fairy-tender buttocks with knickers pulled down; whereas friends gotten the common "Southern " leather strap, paddles & the "go pick your green switch, young lady" across their bare behinds. And I witnessed a bunch of spankings too: normal in the 'hood. A mother's hairbrush was also common for y'all in the suburb, James. Spankings were traumatic but harmless. And necessary too!
The Gym Lesson, The Riding Lesson, released late 1970s, had a real big effect on me as a student, James. Janus films focused on bare bottom chastisement (often domestic) not overtly sexual or contrived-fantasies within plots. It was harsh & spartan, just like that nasty, lil' stick on my bare bum in the 60s. No-nonsense.
I so liked The School Lesson 1979, where bare bottom canings of two girls by Headmaster, reminded me of whoopings from our God-fearing mom. Ok, for sure, a UK School is different to my 1950s strict, Atlanta home right ?
Well, for myself, I found the acute philosophy & mindset of corporal punishment in The School Lesson translated all swell into my experience as a lil' girl. So I was stunned with Janus & read it vividly into the early 1980s. I do here recall this awesome, mass, bare bot whoopings of St Winifred's Trilogy & also The Prefect's Lesson.
I was also re-assured that bubble-gum-cute Rosaleen Young gotten raised in a strict, religious fashion in real life (Christian parents) & gotten her soft, bare botty whooped with the cane aka "the rod of correction" when she was naughty. Again, that was normal for daughters in the UK back then. Europe was like our South on CP values. Janus letters & interviews confirmed this in days of yore.
Today, James, I find Strictmoor Academy so relevant to my childhood. Sarah Gregory creates a superb, visceral nostalgic experience for me across her sites, with mother/daughter scenes. Those good strict ladies, Madame Samantha B & Tasha Lee sure remind me of my own kind but no-nonsense mother dealing with sister & lil' Ol' me.
And I see myself in that younger mommy, Miss Elizabeth, as I gotten to raise my own two, young daughters with corporal punishment when they deserved it: cane to bare botty was the penalty from me. My girls are now in their 30s. Our strict (normal!) Southern family values endure.
