I always keep an eye on Pandora Blake's brilliant blog but this particular post has evoked a memory from many years ago - I used to hate PE at school and the teacher was a real sadist. One particular time he was trying to get us to vault over one of these horrible things and I still remember when he decided some us weren't trying he stood alongside with a plimsoll and if you didn't make it over you were liable to get a sharp crack of the plimsoll across your gym shorts. Now if I was PE teacher and had a naughty girl not trying to exercise properly I can see why one of these would be so useful.If like me you treasure such memories the full size picture is on Pandora's site.

You must have gone to the same school as me! I hated PE at my school too and the PE teacher frightened the living daylights out of me. But as you say perhaps a girl and a slipper.....
