One of my favourite positions for administering corporal punishment is with the recipient lying face down on a fairly unyielding surface with hands and ankles secured. No putting a hand back to try to stop the punishment or pulling her bottom forward at the point of impact in the faint hope it might lessen the pain. Often the person administering the punishment will put something under the target area such as cushions or pillows to raise her bottom in the air and make it easier to target while keeping her reasonably comfortable to lie there for quite a long time.
And then there's this option...
This is the scenario where he's thought "Why the hell should she be comfortable? This is a punishment, it's meant to hurt, and you know what, if she finds it uncomfortable... Well, good!"
And although there are several switches discarded on the floor after he's used them on her, she can see straight in front of her that he has plenty more if he decides she's not yet sorry enough for what she did. And she's going to lie on that hard wooden bench for as long as he deems necessary.
